A source quoted by newspaper El Caribe said Guzmán confirmed the report after  a meeting in the National District Prosecutor’s Office, but affirmed that it’s something normal in the war on crime.

The officials Thursday in the Ciudad Nueva Courthouse, where they met with judicial authorities for around 45 minutes on the case of the Puerto Rican murder convict José Figueroa Agosto and his Dominican paramour Sobeida Felix.

Stand tough. Don't let DR become Colombia of the 80s or Mexico of today. Kill anyone who threatens or tries to kill any public official.

The fall out begins. Let's see where it takes us. Hopefully not too many killings and destructive outcomes; just a lot of prison time and confiscations for the enablers.

This is the way terrorists act ,,they target families of judges, police and and army chiefs and anyone else whose death could react well for them ,The only way to deal with these terrorists is to kill them .

These officals are as dirty as the drug cartel themselves.
Naturally they want to now get their families out of the US before Figeuroa and his girlfirend start singing like canaries.

the worst thing is that these "government officials" have no love for their homeland. allowing a foreigner to come to your country and pump it full of drugs and mayham.. they should be kicked out of the country and warn others to not take them in. that should be consider treason.

Both are Drama Queens. Do these guys know the old saying "You can run, but you cannot hide". If these are serious threats against these folks, then their time is about to run out. "Play with fire you will get burned".

The DR is already "Mexico", "Colombia", "Miami in the 80's"...as "The Trial" begins for the Puerto Ricanio, witnesses will "disappear", attorneys will hide in fear and the government will do what it has to hide it's complicity in "the trade."

hellborn thanks for the moral support ,,it really goes to show the appalling lack of thinking that the minus people have when they prefer to have the families of government officials murdered rather than getting in first against the terrorists and executing them .
If the way the DR is heading ,then we are in real trouble ,The only way to deal with terrorists is to be very strong.
How can anyone condone a planned killing of a family simply because of a dislike of the husband/father/son...it is is quite immoral

Where is Leonel, off somewhere tyring to fix sombody elses problem with Dominican tax money.
COUPLE YEARS AGO I THOUGHT MY FAMILY WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE DR WHO PAYED THEIR TAXES FOR THEIR BUSINESS.
EVERY OTHER BUSINESS OWNER I HAD A CHANCE TO SPEAK WITH SAID MY FAMILY WAS CRAZY TO PAY ANY TAXES ONLY THE GOVERNMENT WILL STEALTHE MONEY.
SO IM NOT SO SURE ABOUT "TAX MONEY"

FEW WEEKS AGO I WROTE ABOUT DRUG RELATED MURDERS IN MEXICO AND THE DR.
LOTS OF DOMINICANS KEEP ON SAYING HOPE OR WISH WE DO NOT BECOME LIKE MEXICO.
HAVE SOME BAD NEWS THESE FOLKS. MORE MURDERS IN THE DR THEN IN MEXICO LAST YEAR. I DONT HAVE THE NUMBERS WITH ME NOW BUT THIS IS FACT.
LOTS FORGET MEXICO IS A HUGH COUNTRY WITH 100 MILLION PEOPLE.
NOT ALL OF MEXICO IS HAVING THIS DRUG PROBLEM ONLY CERTAIN CITIES OR STATES.
DR HAD MORE DRUG RELATED MURDERS LAST YEAR THEN MEXICO HAD.

You are killing me with the rhetoric Drug traffickers are terrorist what do you call the facilitators. Where do you think the money came from for the new SD skyline, those posh areas with gated villas, all that new money being flaunting around. Have you exceeded your ration of Brugal for the day Sir?

These guys are the top law enforcement officials in DR, do you think simply anybody can threat them when they have the full power of the state behind them? Where do you think their peers get the funds for their million USD condos and villas from, are you familiar with that saying if you roll around with dogs you should expect flees on you. If truly their are shaking in theirs booths I'm 99% sure the threats are coming from those they have done dirt with most likely wearing the same uniform they do.The prospect of 10 to 20 years in the US Federal Pen is never appealing specially to those who are accustom to be men of power in a Banana Rep.

Look in to their own official goverment I bet they are the one making this threat, what happening is that now the fish been cought, so all the littler worm that are involve, all the generals, cops and millitary are afraid because the true gonna come up, look at DNCD some of them allready falling and there is more to come, yeah because the goverment official are the one involve in this mess, why you think the crime is so hight in DR and nothing gets done about it. because the real criminal are with in the goverment officials.

Pat Diamond ,,yes I agree that the wealth of some politicians and high ranking officials could not be amassed simply from their salaries and perks, although these are ridiculously high. These people have to be dealt with also ..but no country can survive with anarchy and when a country permits terrorists to plot against and to kill family members , we are bordering on anarchy .
I have been writing about the problems with law and order in the DR for many months so I am not supporting any corrupt official or politician ,,but I do not support any plotting to kill o innocent people by these thugs ,who it seems are mid ranking officers.

there are more than a few murders in Casa de Campo ..I have a muchacha who came from there and was telling me that the only difference is that they are all hushed up there. I think you have to be a little wary no matter where you live in the DR .
