SANTO DOMINGO.- Four senior officers were arrested Thursday night and are being held in the compound of the Antinarcotics Agency (DNCD), in connection with the drug trafficking network led by the Puerto Rican Jose Figueroa Agosto, said news source hoy.com.do.
It also reports, quoting a source, that four other officers may also face arrest in the next few hours, but didn’t reveal their names or the branches they belong to. The DNCD however is expected to reveal their names and identify the others who may be implicated in the case.
Last night a shroud of silence reigned in and around the DNCD, where relatives of the detainees visited seeking in information, but refused to provide the names of their relatives, who would’ve been uncovered once the authorities began to analyze evidence seized during Figueroa’s arrest in Puerto Rico.
Meanwhile National District prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso met last night with Police chief Rafael Guzmán, DNCD president Rolando Rosado and Assistant prosecutor Frank Soto, who described it as “a work meeting.”

Only stalling tactics ..if it was real , a story would read that various named officials were assisting with enquiries ...totally agree with Blu and WP

We should have their names and positions quickly. All this secrecy is no good. Our government is so pathologically corrupt we can't believe anything they say. Their history of law enforcement is a complete joke and this will be the same. The Paulino case is a perfect example with him sitting in the US and nobody else from the country being punished. He certainly wasn't alone in doing what he did.

Hey guys, you know who are the big fishes in this case, "CATCH THEM".
Do not only catch the small fishes and protect the BIG FISHES as the ugly ways that DR always use. handling

Is this going to affect "puntos de venta" in the country? Or it is still protected by police?
From: Dominican Republic, vieja Santo Domingo
Maybe ,yet again ,this article is not correct and actually refers to the alleged plot to kill family members of the police chief and the anti drugs chief ,,as is reported elsewhere ..It has yet to be proved whether there is any connection at all with the Figueroa case .
From: United States
Now we know why DR is the way it is, criminals are often killing and robbing inocent people, but ofcourse nothing gets done to stop it, why because the real criminal are with in the justice and law enforcement system.

Please set an example for our children to see and respect. Protecting the pretty faces and well known names just publicly incriminates the government as an accomplice. It's soooo obvious.
What doe's the Dominican youth have to look up to?
Be a good example to follow for once.

And I have a hunch that LF will come out of this smelling victorious. A few notables will be thrown under the bus, and a recalibration will begin. If he's really smart, LF will do some house cleaning while this is going on and take out some of the most dreadful and corrupt personnel in government. He's going to milk this for as much as he can get, and the public wants a show; so the show must go on. Where's the popcorn?
