Santo Domingo. – Dangerous members of the Puerto Rican Jose Figueroa Agosto’s criminal organization are still on the loose and believed to be in the Dominican Republic, including his once lieutenant Francisco Solano de los Santos, who just like his “boss” also spectacularly escaped from a Puerto Rico jail where he was serving a 209 year prison sentence for murder.

Also on the loose is Vicente Calderón Ramos, another convict who together with Solano and Figueroa managed to make a mockery of the Puerto Rican authorities and escaped on October 11, 1999, from the same high security prison just 25 days after them. They were all convicted for the murder of Edgardo Martinez, nicknamed El Gruero.

Solano, born in Ramon Santana, returned to the country and settled in La Romana (east), apparently on Figueroa’s orders, though the authorities have said little about him or Calderón, despite being fugitives who may also have some function in the network that used the country as its base for one decade.

The FBI believes they are both in Dominican territory and have acted together with their partner.

Vicente, who posed as a contractor in Puerto Rico, figures among the most wanted fugitives for by United States federal authorities His whereabouts hasn’t been established but as an associate of Solano it’s assumed he’s in La Romana.
