Santiago.- The country’s underworld of contract murders yesterday demonstrated stunning firepower by confronting an early morning raid in a barrio of this city, with an assistant DA, and three Police wounded, and two fugitives killed in a hail of gunfire.

The National Police affirmed that both men killed after confronting the authorities in the sector Villa Magisterial were linked to contract murders, cyber crimes, theft homicides and others.

The wounded are Assistant DA Jose Aníbal Trejo, and the agents Frauly Paulino, Gregorio Mejía and William Pimentel. The gunmen were identified as Sandy Enmanuel Grullón and Rubén Francisco Fernandez, wanted in the execution style murder of two men in Guaco, La Vega, whose bodies were found Monday night inside a SUV on the highway.

Police Rafael Guzmán went to Santiago where he warned that they wage a “frontal war” against organized crime and drug trafficking. He said that the uniformed one will not back down nor a millimeter in fulfilling its mission to protect the society of the delinquents. “This is not a game for children, we are facing dangerous thugs because one of dead in the incident at Villa Magisterial, according to the preliminary investigation, was in Colombia the last week.”

The Police Chief stressed that the injured agents and Assistant DA were proceeding as legal authority when they were attacked by gunfire. He added that found in the crime scene were 80 high caliber bullet shells, shot from an M-16 carbine, two Glock pistols with a 30 round clip each, one M-16 and other military gear.

at the rate this is going, in a few years it will be as bad as jamaica. people here will soon understand the ferocious nature of deportees and career criminals. before, it was just street thugs. tomorrow, guys will be armed with the latest machine guns, and night vision goggles. it is not pretty, what is coming this way.

There nees to be better supervision and tracking of the deportees from the US and other places. Perhaps some sort of "welcome home" classes befopre they are let loose on the streets.

Let me see if I have this correct. We have one group of cops taking money from thugs and another killing the thugs who did not pay.

I am not going to say, I told U so (4 the last several years).

Nevertheless Blutarsky, it is irrelevant as to which barrio it is in... the mere fact that it exists at all (a sad fact). Bearcat seems to have a handle on the difficulty in the fight because you never know who you are talking to & what their true alliances are...

The fact that these career criminals (not just delinquents) have a free pass to move around the world (i.e. in Columbia last week) inherently tells us that US DEA still does NOT their eye on the ball (but more likely some nice pechos online).

Remember, the news story of US Gov officials watching porn at work on gov PC's broke earlier this year... but you heard about it over two years ago from me, just fyi.

The RD Gov corruption should have never let this get out of control... now the violence will escalate becuz the Columbians will NOT give up!

RD officials looked in the mirror but discover the 'enemy was me' (themselves)!

All of it is just product of the Dominican corruption in all levels. Dominicans for a long time have ignored the big elephant in the room, theirs own corruption. Keep it going look where your corruption and your own politician have taken the country. In a few years, you are going to eat each other God help you.

DR now is a combination of Mexico, Columbia, criminal killing ground.

We have to accept the facts that is so many Dominican Criminals deported by the US and hence increased a lot of security problems, but the bottom line is :

The ignorance of the Lie-onel's people with corruptions everywhere. Lie-onel can not escape the blame and he has no way to control this criminal activities.

It's funny how in the U.S.A. MEXICO blames us for the guns on their streets...yet Jamaica and now the D.R. have the same GUN problem....and the common denominator......Colombians.

Eliminate them and the drug trade...the gun problem will reduce...it's only a matter of time before they waltz in to a courtroom and shoot it up as they free one of their own.

Kinda graphic photo, no?
At what point does all this violence begin to terrorize the populace? Or are we already there in certain places in large cities?
Right now, I am in a tiny lake village in upstate NY. Yet in some of the inner cities nearby, this same behavior is taking place. Gang members fighting over drug turf, police doing nothing other than traffic enforcement and the citizens reading in the newspaper about the mayhem.
Will the Columbians ever bother me if I do not bother them?
