San Juan, PR.– One month after the arrest of Jose Figueroa Agosto, the Federal Prosecutor's office in Puerto Rico continues putting together the pieces of the evidence against him and has not charged him yet for the crimes of drug trafficking and money laundering.

According to sources in Puerto Rico, the violence and the crimes related to the sale of drugs on the neighboring island maintain citizens concerned. However, the worry seems to become greater each time a criminal network is dismantled due to the war that is unleashed between rival groups.

In statements to the Dominican press, criminologist Jose Raul Cepeda Borrero warned that violence on the island is guaranteed because the drug consumption on the island continues to grow, "while the population's quality of life worsens due to the economic crisis."

dr made the miami herald on monday aug. 6th page 6a 3/4 page story on the pablo escobar of the caribbean. hes a national obsession in the dr.
jose figueroa agosto.
parts of the story printed on monday.
this puerto rican enjoyed the favor of the government in the dominican republic, which allowed him to carry out his activities with total impunity.
how for 10 years he found refuge in the dr, where he carried out multimillion-dollar drug deals.
they also speak about his videos of him having sex with the wife of a dominican police colonel, and how the the tapes are clandestinely on the streets of the dominican republic.

Figueroa was a manager that oversaw drugs being transported through the country. He's not a Drug Kingpin, as the media has portrayed him. That's why he's not being charged with drug trafficking simply said. But people are too dumb and believe everything the media says. The drugs that he handled was fueling the Puerto Rican drug trade in Puerto Rico. Angelo A.K.A. millones was the real boss of the drug enterprise, not Figueroa Agosto or A.K.A. Junior Capsula.

I have a friend that works for the DEA he knows how the drug trade works in the Caribbean... Transportation is where Dominican, Puerto Rican, Jamaican drug traffickers make their money. The Colombians are the suppliers and Venezuela is a major source for drugs also. Especially a place where you could buy the drugs directly, for cheap. Do you know why those Colombians got killed in Paya? Because they were operating in the country without local transportation help. The Colombian group was really operating originally from Nicaragua, and switched there operation in D.R. because of heavy interdiction in Central America, specifically Nicaragua.

Danny00 Figueroa don't have enough money to buy the D.R. government, it's all hype... Comparing him to Pablo Escobar is ridiculous. Pablo Escobar in his heyday, supplied half of the U.S. cocaine market. Figueroa Agosto helped supply Puerto Rico's drug market, big difference.

Danny00 i don't care either about drugs, it's all smoke and mirrors. The people in the shadows the bankers and the suits are the real profit makers. These so called drug kings are collateral sewage. They are the ones that ultimately pay the price, through long jail sentences or death, they lose everything in the end. I'm just trying to bring sense in this story, that the media is falsely portraying.

Blutarsky, Figueroa's group did not supply the U.S. market. It supplied P.R.'s drug market, very small compared to any major city in the U.S. ... And i know for a fact that you're trying to be obnoxious.

Some of the reports I've read state that Figueroa Agosto's network of associates transshipped the drugs from PR to the mainland US including NY, PA, TX, GA and other US points. That makes sense since given his accumulated wealth could not possibly be inherent to one specific market. In fact there are specific quotes from the FBI, DEA, PRP, and the Department of Justice Attorney General, Eric Holder, who specifically state, that the network that Figueroa-Agosto belonged to transshipped the drugs to the US Mainland. I believe them, especially because that is where the money is.

If he did traffick any significant amount of drugs in the U.S. he would of been extradited to the U.S. mainland. Instead he's in prison in P.R. for charges not related to drug-trafficking or money laundering.

There are so many dirty stories now have been found out, and I think the Figueroa is bargaining the most benefits he could ever get,.and the actors/actress in these dirty stories are the DR Government officials ...

I just don't see why there are no charges against him, that means there are some kind under table deals.....

Guys, he has been in custody for a very short time. It takes the prosecution time to incorporate all of the details in order to make the best possible case against the accused and more importantly consider all the applicable charges against the evidence. It takes time to sort out all the details of a decades worth of illicit activity and all ancillary charges against any possible associates. The prosecution is in no hurry, where is he going to go? At this point they know they got him, what they want are persons who he is associated with and collaborative info. and evidence to get other convictions as well. The wheels of justice are slow, one month is a blink of an eye.

The reason why he has not been charged is because he is obviously cooperating wih federal authorities. This is usually the case. There are bigger fish to catch out there and this guy obviously is providing them with a great deal of information about it. I wil not be surprised if a lot more people are arrested in connection with this drug conspiracy.

El Factor he is an escaped fugitive in the US already sentenced to 200 years or so. He does not need to be charged with anything to rot in Jail. What is going on now is the negociations as to how harsh his prison life will be in exchage for him spilling the beans.
He has people who want him dead. His presents in PR serves the needs if the DEA for now. Also as long as he is in PR his face is on the news daily there is pressure here in the DR.

Jonbonz, He's not being charged! Because he's not guilty, of drug trafficking or money laundering. Unless theirs evidence to the contrary. The 200 year charge is also very fishy, why 200 and not the standard 25 years to life. Is 'Figueroa Agosto' or whatever his name is, a serial killer? that he has a 200 year sentence... This case is very suspicious from the onset. To me he's a double agent working for the U.S. government? then i could be wrong, who knows.

ElFactor - and you know of this because.....? You seem to know so much about the drug dealings. He supplied PR's drug market, not the U.S.? We are part of the U.S. fyi. He did all of this with the help of the Dominicans, por dineroooo. One thing is for certain - if he was just a manager, he "managed" to get away with his dealings for a very long time. And.. of course he was helped by the corrupt officials and others in Dominican Republic that are money hungry something that is a known fact to everyone. The pressure that the DR has? They're afraid because they know he's going to talk and a lot of scumbags are going to go down (he's not the only scumbag) Dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres.

DR is NOT like Puerto Rico - you're just not a stop away from the U.S. - at least, not legally born.
