Santo Domingo.– Taiwan´s First lady Chow Mei-ching will arrive Monday in Santo Domingo for a two-leg humanitarian trip that will take her to Haiti and the Dominican Republic to show concern for disadvantaged people in the two nations.
Chow is visiting the two Caribbean allies as honorary president of the Red Cross Society of the Republic of China and as a "Love Ambassador" of World Vision Taiwan (WVT), a Christian charity.
The five-day trip, which she described as a "journey of care and concern," marks the first time that Chow has visited diplomatic allies of Taiwan on her own and not in the company of President Ma Ying-jeou.

I do not beleive that this lady should help the DR. Once the politicans PLD realize they have to do something on their own for a change. Stop funding their private jeepets and pretending that they will save the world and start saving their own country.
I guess the next thing on Leonels agenda will be that he and a group of dignitaries will fly by private jet to Taiwan to thank the first lady.

It is really great visit for our country. We should study Taiwan's perseverance as an example whose from the very beginning of their existence post-civil war had stood up toe to toe against the big bully of China. The conservative, righty, intellectual, anti-Commies along with the Chiang Kai Chek loyalist formed the Government in Taiwan with Chiang Kai Chek at the helm. Let's hope that the leftist in the U. S. congress looses the November election so they won't be able even with Obama to sell them out to the Communist. The U.S. law still stand as the USA by law requires to sell them top military equipment and that if the Communist attack Taiwan the USA will force to retaliate against the Communist China.

Further explanation on Vocano's comment:
1. I do not think there will be any war between Mainland China and Taiwan, the hate were long time ago for older generation, the young generation no more hate to each other.
2. One of the biggest reason that Taiwan can advance is: "NO corruption allowed"., even the ex president from Taiwan had been sentenced life for the first trial because of his corruption and his wife's accepted bribery. Can DR do this?
If DR can do this, then there may be a hope.
