Santo Domingo.- The Santiago Appellate Court Penal Chamber subpoenaed that city’s ex mayor Jose Enrique Sued to appear at 9 a.m. September 6, to face charges of violating several articles of the Laws on the Environment and on Health.
Sued will have to respond to questions from Penal Chamber Instruction judge Maria del Carmen Santana in a preliminary hearing, stemming from charges by the Neighborhood Board of the urbanization Jardines del Oeste, of illegally authorizing the expansion of the cemetery Christ Vive, in Santiago.
In that regard Santiago Environment prosecutor Jacinto Mejía warned that a arrest warrant may be issued if Sued fails to appear for the hearing
Although the Penal Chamber had subpoenaed the former mayor in several occasions, he has yet to appear in court and sent his representatives instead.
