Santo Domingo.- The National Police announced Tuesday that it has identified and on the lookout for at least five suspects in connection with the spectacular theft of two automatic tellers with 3.5 million pesos in the upscale club Casa de España.

Upon providing scant details, Police spokesman Nelson Rosario asked the media to understand why the burglar’s names won’t be released or where they live, affirming that “today or tomorrow” they’ll be caught. “The National Police urges them, as always, to surrender. We know they are armed, what interests us is to arrest them and recover the money.”

The official added that the group was also involved in other burglaries after Casa de España.

I have an idea Police spokesman Nelson Rosario. Why don't you catch them first and then announce a "fait accomplit" instead of warning them that you are coming. Do they teach anything at the Keystone Cops Police Academy about the importance of the element of surprise?

How they do it in the real world:

LOS ANGELES — Eight current and former officials in the Los Angeles suburb of Bell, including the former city manager and mayor, were arrested Tuesday in a corruption scandal that authorities said cost the city more than $5 million in excessive salaries and illegal personal loans.

@ Grosero

the fuss is that this has been done in an Upscale Club, so the elite does not feel safe if nothing is done about it.
