SANTO DOMINGO.- With songs and prayer Christian groups walked circles around Congress, as occurred in Jericho, to spook sins away from the house of the lawmakers.
The activity coordinated by the pastor Sanfor Yovanny Medrano and the United Evangelical Churches aims to protest against corruption, drug trafficking and the social evils they affirm grip Dominican society.
The walk began in Congress’ esplanade under a constant drizzle that didn’t halt the dozens of umbrella-packing Christians from their achieving their goal, which according to Medrano will continue in other institutions.
The next “exorcism” would be conducted in the and National Palace and continue in other agencies, to protest the lack of official policies to confront society’s evils.

lovingit, I have NO problem with believing.
Dominican authorities are morally bankrupt. They steal, cheat, lie, murder etc, with impunity.
Just read “Judge orders arrest of 3 Chinese over chicken meat dispute”. These are supposed to be the smart ones. They have inbred entitlement mentality.
If anything should happen at this exorcism is a large bolt of lightning should kill them all and let the devil have them.

This doesn't sound like an "exorcism" at all. Simply what Christians are supposed to do, which is pray for their leaders. As the Bible clearly says "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything
that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or
more are gathered together in My Name, I am there in the midst of them." -- Matthew 18: 19-20
We should all be doing this, praying for those who God has put in authority over us, that they would be guided and led to do the right things.

The only place "holy oil" could sellout is in front of the churches, the priests need them to lubricate there tiny lil virgin penises when they get in the desperate mood, and that's about all the time pretty much.

God has EVERYTHING to do with this. The entire world is in such a mess that we humans have made of it, the only hope of straightening it out is only with the help of God. "If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened" (Matthew 24:22).
We Christians must keep praying...pray without ceasing as the Bible tells us.

As a good agnostic...trying to balance reason with fanatisism, I have to side on thereason side.
Seems if there was a god, or someone in charge, he would look after the masses that congrigate around the Basilica...asking for a handout.
Question for the devout....why do so many with nothing...absolutely nothing....think that your god has given them a good life?
Can you quote something fromn the bible???
I can.....and then god said let those who believe beyond reason forever be manipulated by those in cloaks and offices restricted to the general public...and let no tax be levied against those who have the most....mike 09:29:10

The same reason any believer is grateful to God for whatever we have in life. Faith has nothing to do with money or eartly material things. The believer is filled with the Holy Spirit and that fills that "hole", that "void" that we all have in us. People who never come to know Christ and don't fill the "hole" with him are never truly filled here on earth...they are always seeking...something.
The Bible is life's instruction book. Through reading it, you gain a peace and inner joy and contentment that nothing here on earth can replace. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
I can only tell you my personal experience in coming to know Christ is that there is such a difference in your life the moment you accept the free gift of salvation! The burden is lifted! God begins to fill your heart and gives you an inner peace that no circumstance can change. See Philipians 4:11

The problem is we don't want God in our Congress, on TV, in our schools and being the gentleman that he is he has stepped away a bit to let us handle this world, which might I add we are NOT doing such a hot job. But when stuff hits the fan thats when we are crying "Hay Dios mio, ayudame" ...
