gmiller,
To repond to your question is simple.
To many officials in the DR would no longer have an income if they did enforce the laws as they have them on the books. So you see it is in the interests of the police and judiciary to stifel any type of serious justice.

There was the case here recently of youngsters who murdered quite a number of taxi drivers some in a barbaric way ,,far worse crimes than the youngsters in Rhode Island ...what has happened to them ?? We really have to build a prison for convicted criminals on a nearby island.

It used to be a nice town before the Dominicans moved in, but not all Dominican are like that, cause I now some decent Dominican people.
The US need to send all the bad ones back to the DR, just like the DR. does with the Haitians.

How dare people use the name(s) La Trinitaria and Los Trinitarios as names of their gangs, trying to imply that it is similar to what the original founding Fathers did. Duarte would be turning in his grave to see those names used to turn Dominican youth into criminals, leaving them either condemned to the Grave or Prison......the VERY opposite of what he fought for - prosperity and freedom. Shame on them....sin verguenzas!

Last I looked Rhode Island was a state not a town. As was stated in the article maybe your thinking of Providence the capital of Rhode Island, as a nice town.

riosm, if cuba is a prison, it operates under the auspoice of the american regime. The only torture camp on the island is from the northern brethren.

VivaCuba,
LOL it's a good thing I'm not the warden we'll trying out that new ronco slicer dicer and splicer all in good fun. I'll serve.......
Breakfast: bacon, sausage, pork links and chorizo.
Lunch: pork chops, pork ribs, pork fried rice, pork loins topped off with pig feet.
Dinner: all the above mentioned just re-heated left overs.
T.V viewing time will be the adventures of porky pig cartoons.
I'll paint their jail cells pink, issue pink jump suits, slippers, turbans and undies.
Surround the prison with a pig farm and to top it off I have the singer PINK music 24/7 to give them that HOG HEAVEN FELLING.
Now thats torture.
