This is one sad looking turd. He is a pathetic idiot that could not control his animalistic-sadomasochistic tendencies and now he threw away his life. I feel sad for the young man who lost his life at the hands of this POS!!!

Tragic and a reflection of the "returns on investment" from a poorly educated human being. Again, the consequences from our poor state of education yields yet another candidate to the ever growing list of potential millionaires. His natural abilities that gave him the opportunity to escape and become a very wealthy young man all practically gone because of some "Cowboy-like-Wild West" mentality. Shooting into the air to stop some heated argument!! What a mind!! First thing the government needs to do is register all professional players and demand that they 1. not carry a weapon and 2. have an escort service to public events. Heavy fines to those who don't comply. It also would help if they got MLB involved, as the players fear more the fines from their professional employers in the USA, than those of their native land.

Simon, reached by phone by newspaper Nuevo Diario, said his gun went off accidentally when a melee occurred in the square
WHY DOES HE LIKE 1,000 OTHERS HAVE THE GUN?
OK! I KNOW ABOUT THE BAD POLICE I DONT HAVE THE ANSWER BUT WITH EVERY ONE WITH LOADED GUNS IS VERY FAR FROM THE ANSWER FOR POOR POLICE SUPPORT IN THE DR.
GUNS, DRUGS ONLY LEAD TO MAJOR PROBLEMS, AND FOR SURE WHEN U GIVE A GUN TO A UNEDUCATED PERSON FOR SURE YOUR LOOKING AT BIG PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE.

One year in prison for murder? He should be executed. The fact that he has money does not mean he can kill people who do not have as much money as him.

Veronica ,,he has not yet been sentenced ,,,this is a period where he stays in prison while the investigation takes place ,,,he may face the judges before the year is over or he may be ordered to spend more time there while the police investigate ..IT is unusual that he was not permitted bail and I applaud that decision . In the prisons in the DR , more than 85% of prisoners have not been sentenced.

I understand that many articles are not very detailed oriented, but we have some really stupid people who do not think before they speak on this website.LOL.

I applaud the Dominican judges decision for not letting Simón go free on bail.

By the way, this article contains a little bit more detail.

It's truly embarrassing that several of our most opinionated members are completely clueless when comprehending what they read.

Just one year, isn't it really short for a big case like that? I mean people can be charge for 3 years only because steeling, but one years for deadly shooting? It's kinda unfair!

That's a bad action for an athlete, but everything can happen. There must be any causes for him to doing that.
