Santo Domingo.- Haiti President Michel Martelly affirmed Friday that relations between his country and Dominican Republic are at their best moment.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the 12th Forum of Biarritz held in the Hotel Jaragua, the Haitian leader said despite room for improvement, relations between the two countries that share the second biggest Caribbean island are good.
He also hailed the Forum as important for bolstering Latin America-Europe ties.
Martelly, who arrived in the country Friday afternoon, listed some the measures taken in the effort to recover his country from the January 2010 quake’s catastrophic damages, and place its economy in a capacity to compete.

The nigga comments totally unnecessary and unacceptable. The best way relations could get better is if all the Haitians in DR go back to Haiti yesterday!

I agree about the negative comments.....but in current America blacks call each other the"N" word all the time, they even call each other my "N" which is fully acceptable as long as your black and consider your self owned property. I been called a "N" please by blacks which I find funny.
Question....if a black calls another black the "N" word does that make him a RACIST ?

Well, thell me what country in the world run by black people has ever progressed, thrived, invented all kinds of positive things, and have added great things to the world?
Yea, some of you will say - black ppl invented the TV, Traffic lights, etc, etc, etc.
OK I know that!! - now back to reality: Communication, communication, communication
If you dress like a thug, walk like a thug, and speak like a thug - what will everyone think you are?
Listen this is not about skin color is about what you are?
Sadly, but truly most of low life in this world are of African, Hispanic descend, and other non caucasian races. I know you are gonna say - what about serial killers?
Yea, but that's not the guy commiting petty crimes on a daily basis in NYC, Boston, Maimi, California, and other major cities in the world. Most likely it would always be some petty African, Hispanic, and a non-caucasian man.
See that's why being black is non positive most of the time...
BLACK = IGNORANCE

SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE why I'm 100% Dominican also and I don't have any black blood.....I take that back millions of years ago like everybody else.
I don't know what part of the U.S you live in or grew up at but I was raised in South Central L.A during the early 60's and was called a dirty Mexican/wetback/river swimmer/chilli bean etc..etc.. after a while it didn't bother me any more. My wife is Mexican and every time were in the DR to visit family everywhere we go were called bad versions of Spanish , Italian, French and on some accusation's a F'in gringo.
You can sun tan dye your hair even act and portray a different race with dress accent, but one can't hide the inside.
How many times have you [minus punk-ass] been called the "N" word ?
Better yet how many times have you used that "N" word to describe another Human Being ?
Call me what you want....most call me Human.
You should check out the history of the "N" word.

There have been improvements in Haiti for the last few years. Unfortunately, the earthquake did not help matters especially in the capital Port-au-Prince where it hit the hardest. However, a friend of mines just came back on vacation from a real nice resort. He said that Haiti has a lot of potential and that if you go away from the capital you will see the improvements. Check this out:

@ riosm The country of Haiti had a rough beginning. Being the only independent black country in the Western Hemisphere in times when all other blacks elsewhere were slaves. Haiti was ostracized and punished just for being black. Then, Haiti suffered in the hands of "some" of their own leaders who were not at all patriotic but patri-pocket. Unfortunately, they were not interested in nation building but only interested in building their own wealth, family and their own circles. However, I would say within the past 8 years, there was an awakening of the Haitian mentality and Haiti started getting on a slow but steady course of improvement. I bet you in less than 30 years, Haiti will not be the same. As a matter of fact in less than 5 years there will be major improvements. Haiti will get it right.
