UPDATE 6TH PARAGRAPH

Santo Domingo.- Ex Philippines president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is seeking political asylum in the Dominican Republic, local media report, as the nation’s Department of Justice tries to verify the development.

GMA news reports that Philippines Justice Department chief Leila de Lima was quoted Thursday as saying she will seek information on whether the Caribbean country, which has no extradition treaty with the Philippines, “has already given the former President a passport.”

“I would not know where that information is coming from, na parang bibigyan ng asylum status. That is yet for verification. Definitely, we are verifying all these information."

The news source said however, that Arroyo spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn denied such move by the former President, added that they their never identified the foreign country as one of Arroyo’s potential destinations, “in their plea to travel abroad to seek medical help.”

According to Philippines news source philstar.com, the former chief executive faces, “several plunder cases, “and alleged massive cheating during the 2007 elections.”

News source sunstar.com also cites a Wednesday newspaper report that Hans Dannenberg, Dominican Republic ambassador for several countries of Asia, personally delivered asylum papers to the former President on October 25.

UNCLEAR VISIT

On May 4, president Leonel Fernandez bestowed the country's highest honor on Philippines ex president, but the reasons behind her visit were never disclosed.

This must be what bonds them together:

" the former chief executive faces, “several plunder cases, “and alleged massive cheating during the 2007 elections.”

I wonder who will give asylum to Lie-onel Fernandez and his Narco-Mob now that his “butty” Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi is pushing Daises?

Anything can be purchased in the Dominican Republic.
Judges, politicans, police, military just to name a few.

And people wonder how Leonel made his millions.

A Protestant church group sued former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on Thursday, claiming security forces under her control killed and tortured at least six of its members.
The chief anti-graft prosecutor resigned Friday after she was impeached by Congress for failing to investigate corruption allegations against a former president.

So she is here to teach... teach the government how to cheat lie and steal. MORE.......

They also have this failure in common:

Manila Metro Rail Transit System

"It has thirteen stations along its 16.95km track which passes through the cities of Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasay, Quezon City, and San Juan. While originally intended to decongest EDSA, the MRT-3 has been only partially successful in decongesting EDSA, and congestion is further aggravated by the rising number of motor vehicles."

Sound familiar?

Massive economic assistance to both.
Liberating the Philippines from the Japanese.
Preventing Dominican Republic from collapse into anarchy and civil war 1916-24 and 1965-66
Probably masterminded and funded Trujillo's assassination.
The US motivation may be questionable but the results are not.

Now you are making ME laugh, you want to comment on stuff that YOU IGNORE, i'll help you kill your pathetic IGNORANCE about history on a country that for whatever reason you seem to be forced to live, i NEVER said we succeded against the GREATEST MILITARY POWER ON THE WORLD, However Dominicans FOUGHT EACH TIME against all ODDs

Lesson 1: First Invasion, to COLLECT due payments on 1905, customs occupied by the marines.
Lesson 2: Full Invasion, 1916-1924, EIGHT F*cking years, the result of this was America's favorite Trujillo for the next 30+ years.
Lesson 3: Full Invasion along with a Coalition formed by the dictatorships of latin america and 42,000 stinking gringos ordered by the jack ass Lyndon B Johnson becasue he was sh*tting on his pants beleiving that there was going to be another Cuba the result of this was BALAGUER, which we had to swallow for 22 f*cking years, these are facts not opinions, Google Operation Powerpack, EDUCATE yourself then comeback

Oh great history teacher, tell me how many innocent Dominican citizens were slaughtered, women raped and cities plundered by the evil US invaders?
And why do you still kiss America's ass and why is it almost the only place many Dominicans can get a proper job - second biggest source of income to this failed state - after American Gringo tourism (or should I say American occupation?)
Far more Dominicans have died from Dominican motor accidents and victims of Dominican crime than in defending the country from USA.
Oh, Hipo and Leo were appointed by Washington? Which great statesman will you make leader next?

is that all you could come up with?

1- By US, almost 4,000 civilians on the Latest war 1965, i can gurantee A LOT MORE of the previous two since we were "n!ggers" on those years, sub-humans to the white wisconsin marines, READ and LEARN, if they are still getting away with all kinds of SH!T TODAY

2- Occupations are BY FORCE WITH GUNS, don't be even more Ignorant than what you ALREADY are, Tourism is an INDUSTRY, so if i follow your sick logic, then everyone that has ever fought a war or was INVADED by the US, kisses their ass when they work over there, like Japan, Mexico, Germany, England, etc. hahaha

3- Even if ONE dominican Life was lost due to an INVASION m that is TOO F@CKING MUCH!!, i don't expect to understand this anyway, how many times has Australia Been Invaded? did you even have an indepence WAR?

4- They are not appointed by anyone but the VOTES from the dominicans, that is how they are elected, they are not "Governor Generals" sent to rule by her "majesty" or POT

1. How many of those were killed by US troops and how many in the hostilities between the Constitutionalists and Loyalists, and other Dominican ratbags exploiting the situation? How many Dominicans have been killed by other Dominicans, not only Truilljo, but other megalomaniacs? How many Dominicans have been killed by other Dominicans in robberies, family feuds, drug wars an on your roads? Far, far more!

2. The USA has never invaded England. Nor did they initiate hostilities against Japan or Germany. Arguably American and allied occupation and reconstruction of those countries has been the best thing to happen to them. Both are amongst the world’s leading economies and are now peaceful, humane, law-abiding and successful democracies. This is still and always will be a banana republic.

3. So the bombing of Darwin doesn’t count, because all odds, we (and some American allies) managed to stop the Japanese invaders from setting foot on our vast northern shores? (Australian coastline 25,760 kms, Dominican Republic coastline 1,288 kms). Australia has had to fight for independence. I suggest you read up on the Eureka Stockade, and the Kokoda Trail, for example, where Australians have fought successfully against a much larger force. However whenever possible, we have made progress by peaceful and diplomatic means.

4. The Governor General of Australia is not sent to rule by Her Majesty. The Governor General is an Australian appointed by our democratically elected Prime Minister, sometimes against the wishes of the British Sovereign and the British Government. Any corruption in government is quickly detected, investigated and prosecuted. In this failed state, corruption is accepted as part of the remuneration package for politicians and government officials.

How someone from this failed state can criticise the highly successful democratic form of government of Australia is beyond comprehension. You guys can’t even run a tin-pot bus service without chopping each other up with machetes! Thieves can steal an aircraft from your main airport from right under your noses! Your judicial system is a sick, tragic joke. Your only claim to fame at an international level is a few baseball players, and Australia (where it is a minor sport) even beat you at that. You would do well to follow Australia’s example, and not Haiti’s!

You are living on borrowed time (and money) my friend. When Dominicans in USA decide they are Americans and stop sending you money, and Americans decide it is safer to holiday elsewhere, then what? You are overdue for a major earthquake or hurricane, and still do not have building codes enforced. Haiti #2 here we come!

If they're any good they become American baseball players. Wow, they must be very patriotic Dominicans! Is that why you worship them like gods?
When an Australian yacht with an Australian team wins the America's cup we claim credit. But when a Swiss yacht, designed by an Australian, crewed and skippered by and Australian crew wins, we don't.

I guess when you are Dominican you have to claim credit when you can. Not too often in the Olympic Games, I see.

I never said what these baseball players is doing is illegal. Yes I understand your confusion since for most Dominicans, the only way they can make thank kind of money is illegally.

So they can't claim tax deductions for a while? Well boo-hoo-hoo! They still earn squillions after tax, while laughing at guys like you who kiss their soon-to-be American butts. Pay more tax than Americans on the same money? How man many Americans get that kind of money for just playing games? Maybe professionals who spent years in college and university, and will continue paying tax long after your "stars" are has-beens. Maybe businessmen who have risked everything for the business and worked their butts off.

And you've had offers to go? You are a baseball star too? Well woop-de-doo! Leaving is the "easy way out"? Out of what, exactly - this failed state?

Regarding your question, I've already answered it. Read it again, maybe after taking a lesson in clear thinking from Stillhere, ok
