Santo Domingo.- Just hours after Senate president Reinaldo Pared’s affirmation Thursday that the Government won’t raise the electric bill, the Economy Minister clarified that it’s the economic cabinet’s call regarding the talks with the International Monetary Fund.

Temístocles Montas said while Pared has every right to speak on the issue, in representation of the ruling PLD party, in the end it’s the Government’s economic cabinet which will conduct the talks with the IMF.

“We’re negotiating, the IMF can make a suggestion, but in the end it must hear the Dominican Government opinions,” the Economy Minister told reporters after his dissertation in the Dominican Republic Investment Forum.

On Thursday morning Pared affirmed that president Leonel Fernandez prefers to break with the IMF rather than increase the cost of electricity by 18%, as the IMF demands.

just received my electric bill and the corp. is charging me 600rd because I have credit with them + a disconnect charge. Therefore, I have to pay interest on my money. Reason for credit- they misread my meter. Also three came to cut my electric. HELLO, I have a credit! Oh oh.
This is the 4th time they have done this but this is the first time charging me interest on my credit.

Yes, and if you clowns don't get your house in order, the international organizations and other credit institutions will fry your asses. Stop the wanton theft and mismanagement in this and other sectors and see how much more advancement will come. Everyone MUST pay their energy obligations, ESPECIALLY SO the previously untouchables.

All the IMF is interested in is halting the economy of a country, so that country has to borrow more money than it can pay back. And of course the directors and officials are 'earning', great incomes! (Some are suspected of spending it in sleazy hotels with 'chamber maids, some just use it.) But the countries have to pay the debt! And our country has gold! That is the most wanted material on the international market. Big companies are stealing that! Stop them, divert the money into the economy and we will have a 24/7 electricity grid, 10% for education, no more debts and a raise of general income by 20% in two weeks, if we kick out the IMF!
Real independence means making your own money, and dividing it in an honest manner!
