PUERTO PLATA. - Antinarcotics (DNCD) agents raided a farm in the community of Sosua, where they arrested a Brit, a Norwegian and two of their employees, and confiscated 300 marijuana plants.
The Brit Bob Allen George (Rata and/or Bob Marley) and the Norwegian Christian Lindstad were arrested together with the Haitian Pedro Pool and the Dominican Jose Aníbal Peralta in the sector El Choco,.
In a statement, the DNCD said it acted on a tip that the Europeans “were working with the hallucinogenic vegetable, which we managed to find out by means of an extensive intelligence work.”
It adds that the agents in addition to the 300 plants still green, seized several dried plants, and hundreds of bags ready to deliver by the Englishman’s and the Norwegian’s “distribution' chain.”

A resounding, Yes! To all of the above! You can even make cookies out it. I plan to produce and market them to Bulimia/ Anorexia sufferers. Also to "assisted living" centers for old folks whose food don't taste so good no more. Just sprinkle it in their soup and watch them eat. It's a real sight to behold!

Ron,
Please let me know what you think of this view that I have or anyone else who cares to respond to my incoherent ramblings.
I personally do not take any drugs, not out of any moral or religious objection, the just don’t turn me on pardon the pun. I do like Macoris 8, the best Dominican rum in my humble opinion for its modest cost and when I can free load Rémy Martin Centaure de Diamant with one of Fidel’s best cigars. I am lying about the Rémy, with my cheap friends I am lucky if I get VS. So I am not a prude. In fact I do have one very serious addiction which is tan skinned persons of the opposite sex, especially if they have been blessed with ample generous posteriors, but I digress.
Seriously though, I feel we should try the experiment of legalization either national or regionally for a period that statisticians, medical, law enforcement etc. (all those that could render a non-biased professional opinion on the results) would suggest is adequate.

Say 3, 5, 7 years to see what effects it would have on crime reduction, reduction in addiction since it is no longer attached to the lure of doing something prohibited and so forth.
I suggest this because we already have enough laws on the books to penalize and punish people for negative behavior will under the influence. In other words if on Friday night you get paid and decide to buy booze or Mary Jane and you consume it the privacy of your home over the weekend, as long as you do not drive a car or engage in any other type of activity that place others or yourself at risk that’s fine. On Sunday night you sober up and back to work on Monday.
We know prohibition did not work with alcohol so we repealed the 19th amendment and a hard blow was given to the segment of organized crime that was born and flourished during prohibition; like it’s growing out of control right now with the prohibition on drugs.

Also with the advent of groups like MADD and the passing of strict “driving will under the influence laws” we did not have to resort to prohibition but we curtailed the abuses of the behavior rather banning the behavior outright.

First and foremost, Mr. Josean, most people who still have doubts about our metro, should go ahead and ride it all drunk and stoned. Just to get a "feel" of what it's like...But that's another discussion, for another day.
The issue with drugs in general, is something of a pickle. Everyone has a take on what should or should not be done. Some nations go too far, others not far enough.
I couldn't tell you in detail how I feel about it unless we had two hours to kill, and were accompanied by a couple of wenches, plenty of beer, a few joints and cake.
I'll give you highlights on what I think...:There are drugs that are "bad". Mostly these are the Opiates.
Morphine, heroine, etc. everything that ends in "ine". I wouldn't recommend these (except for medical uses), because they enslave people in the most absolute way.
Then we's got yer coke and crack. these ain't so bad, but still hightly addictive but suitable for having sex, and if overdone, for suicide by heart attack...co

...Tobacco and alcohol, I won't bother with. Everyone knows about cancer and cirrhosis.
The one I consider "safe"( and I put that in quotation marks, because we still don' know the long-term affects of such a drug.)....But if you consider me as a prime example of what it does to people, then, I wouldn't recommend it. It will drive you nutty over time, by letting you think you know physics and how our universe came to be. I'd still smoke because I'm too far gone to make a difference.
In my demented, but humble opinion, I'd say that the state, (DR, US, EU,) should ease up on putting away people that get caught up in the crossfire. Slam the traffickers but not the users.
I'd say it's their job (state), to stem the flow, and solely their fault for having it slip through the border.
