The Police said alleged the hit men Tony Perez, alias Tony Muntana, Jose Aristides Garcia, Bartolo Brito Sanchez and Hugo Manuel Camilo Hidalgo were arrested in the corner of Venezuela Las Americas avenue. It said they are also charged with two other murders in Santiago, for which they were paid two million pesos.

Among the items seized from the detainees were National Drugs Control Agency uniforms three rifles, several pistols, and several vehicles.

Rizik was targeted for execution by the contracted killers on December 7 in a cockfighting arena in the subdivision of in Herrera, but aborted it when several police patrols arrived in the area.

Maybe the cops should have waited until after they killed this scumbag before they arrested the killers?
Have to wonder how these thugs were in possession National Drugs Control Agency uniforms three rifles, several pistols, and several vehicles. Perhaps they fell of the back of a truck?

Why do the police want to arrest anyone that wants to dispose of that mass murderer El Gallero ..who some how has escaped murder charges in San critobel where he allegedly murdered and dismembered two young men and in Higuey where he was also on murder charges. Just let them do thier job on el Gallero and then move in . ..seems the police are incapable of pputting this man behind bars

They really spun this one around!

From murder suspect to victim.

Nothing like an interim judge and understanding police senior officers.

yesterday at 10 am on a Higuey public street my wife and her cousin were robbed at gunpoint by two men on a motorcycle. They had the time to take anything of value from them, watches, rings, ear rings and a coat of her cousin was wearing. Seems there are no police in the area of the hotels and when they finally arrived they said there was nothing they could do. My question is what exactly do the police do? I never see them on the highways stopping those who drive recklessly, never see a police patrol a public street so what is their duties? I have been run off the road between Santiago and Santo Domingo because I did not get out of the way of a Mercedes SUV quick enough endangering 6 people including two children. Witnessed numerous large Mercedes 10 ton produce trucks and semi trucks run red lights in Santiago along with hundreds of autos. Where is the traffic police? Is there any who have actually written a ticket or do they simply sit and watch for accidents then take action ?

sweetbabyj,
Police have more important things to do, like fining gringo drivers for not carrying their ID. I'm serious!

Good thing they saved El Gallero -

he looks like a nice man, and is providing a wonderful service to satisfy Dominican blood-lust.
Every Monday there is a long queue of shiny, big SUVs parked outside our local galleria. The noise of the giant truck-mounted sound-system and generator is only drowned out by the shouts and screams of the drunk guys watching roosters' bloody fight-to-the-death, so they can gamble.

This is Dominican culture at it's best!

Seems like every drug importing country has a middleman in DR, to push the drugs through.
http://www.justice.gov/marshals/wanted/major-cases/rizik.htm

and this:

Now tell me if this is not another well placed middleman, just like Figueroa, who by the way also "walked" out of a prison in PR and wound up relocated to DR to conduct business.
