President Fernandez heads campaing rally. File.
Santo Domingo.- President Leonel Fernandez may announce that he’ll no seek a new term in next year’s presidential polls, during the reelection rally a group of ruling PLD party legislators plan for Sunday, to hand him the two million signatures they affirm have collected to support his new bid, said a source quoted by newspaper Nacional.
They said the chief executive will utilize the special backdrop of Sunday’s activity to announce his decision not to run for the presidency next year, calling it “a perfect scenario” for Fernandez to state his reasons for not seeking a new mandate.
The source revealed that PLD groups that don’t support the President’s re-election expect he’ll announce that he’ll not seek a new term, Nacional reports.
“President Fernandez believes in surveys and conducts them permanently and he knows that the numbers don’t add up, so I don’t believe he’d risk opting for reelection.”

1. For those who want to kiss L-F's behind, they want L-F to run for another term in order to protect their existing benefits.
2. For L-F, he knows his 2 terms lead DR in a much worse situation, corruptions, drugs, crime rates.....etc, he knows he can not win the re-election.
3. Whoever the president elected will face a tough time to clean up the messy, or the situations will be even worse.
4. After another 4 years, he could run the President again., by then, he complys the Constitution, he can easily beat up the opponent to win again.....etc.

Leonel should not and must not run for a third term because it is unconstitutional! If he knows what is good for him he will respect that and try a new term in 2016. However, my vote goes to whomever el PLD chooses to run for President of the Dominican Republic because another 4 years of Hipolito is unquestionable!
