Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic president Leonel Fernandez will decide before April 10 if he’ll seek a new term with the ruling PLD party, the main promoter of the chief executive’s re-election, Felix Bautista, revealed by phone yesterday to newspaper Hoy.
The PLD Central Committee has announced the selection of its presidential candidate for April 10.
The also San Juan province senator said Fernandez’s reelection coordinating team asked the Public Notaries Guild to certify the 2.2 million alleged signatures collected to spur the chief executive to accept a new bid.
Bautista, who’s also the PLD’s Secretary of organization said what’s most important in last Sunday’s rally is that those signatures are political-electoral assets of the party. “And whomever the candidate, we have the control of that amount of voters in the country and abroad. We know how their name, where they live, which is their Cedula and how to communicate with them.”
He noted however that the electoral register has more than six million voters and the 2.2 million signatures represents only 33% of the voting population.

I just don't understand what type of dirty political trick to confuse many is this one. I don't pay attention to the game about Leonel Fernandez using tactics to be a candidate. Listen to this out there! He has to let some other friend in the party to run the rummors, because he needs to get passed the selection of the candidate for the PLD in order to support the winner. He could even decide to be one of the candidate, knowing he will be eliminated. That way he didn't have to support any other before the internal election. Got it!
