NEW YORK.- Two Dominicans, arrested together with 13 others, formed part of one of the most powerful drug trafficking rings in the city of Buffalo, New York, caught in operation conducted by York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

The official said the operation, dubbed "Operation Horse Trail," has been the hardest blow to heroin dealers in Buffalo’s history, and announced indictments against 15 members of the ring.

Schneiderman said agents from the Organized Crime Task Force, working with New York State Police C-NET and other local law enforcement agencies culminated the operation in Buffalo, the main destination for the drug sent from the Bronx.

He said the 11 months long investigation included hundreds of hours of wiretaps, vigilance and undercover operations.

“The drug dealers destroy our communities and cause damage to the families of the entire state,” he said, listing the Dominicans charged as Eury Rodriguez (a) Omar Javier Márquez Baerga, Omar Márquez, Omar Baergas, Jesus Polanco and Angel Navarro, allegedly fake street names, and Freiz Almánzar and José Vázquez.

The official added that "Operating as a Major Trafficker" is the only narcotics charge in NY State that carries a possible life sentence.

I think ANY MAJOR trafficker should get at least 30 years behind bars because drugs mess peoples ENTIRES lives up and causes much ruin to the families, families are the foundation of civilization. All they want is money and could care less how it ruins peoples lives, so good riddance.

Would legalizing drugs eliminate the problem or criminal activities? I think not. These individuals are pre-disposed to life of crime and they would just move on to the next event, being purse snatching or auto theft, etc. So what would we do then? Eliminate purses, ban automobilies, etc.?

There are no excuses for these indivuduals. They are bottom feeders looking for easy street, and tenement upbringing or poverty has nothing to do with it. In our permissive system, we could go on making excuses and find ways to release them to society, whereupon they would just go on to perpetrate further crime.

I don't want to risk any innocent lives for these individuals. Where they are heading is fine, and I hope they will stay there for balance of natural life. That's where they belong and they have forfeitied their freedom.

Lie-onel must be proud of himself because he is hamantarian supports of the Criminal offenders in DR, yet he does not care the devastating damages caused by those criminals in DR to people ,to the country, to the image of DR.

Possible Life sentence in the US vs. light penalties in the DR. Oh, yes, we can nominate Lie-onel to be the candidate of the Peace Award of the Nobel Prize.
