Actually I was thinking that there is a simple and effective way to seal the border: land mines. They are relatively cheap and easy to replace. They can cover large areas and different terrain. And in the case of the DR could be placed within our territory with other more traditional obstacles along the border. The maze would be very difficult and time consuming to travel illegally. Thus, almost all attempts would fail. The fact that a few deaths will occur will act to build up its operational efficiency and deterrent value. With 130 plus miles of border area to contain, this option may offer the best bang for the buck of all the options available. The Mountain passages would come to a dead end, as traveling through them will become prohibited. A few border crossing with heavy border patrols will be the only save and legal option available. Everyone but the criminals, the human traffickers, etc., will be happy with this outcome.

land mines! !wow! great idea.

but now i have a message for people that want to invest in a country that wants to blow up people.
be careful, just ask where is mrs.iiowka from intercaribe with her office in miami fl? where is she with the $20 million dollars she ripped investors off of.their money.
6 years after the fact most of these people that had invested their money in the dr. still do not have even a tittle for the property they had bought.
this same person iam speaking about represents the land mine government of the dr. she is or was the president of fiabci.
no one will help u if u do get a bad deal in the dr. so be more then careful.
from one honest dominican man.
ps be careful where u step or walk because their are now land mines set up in the dr. if they cant steal your money like a good crook can they will now blow u up.

What the Dominican Republic needs is to get CSI teams and Scotland Yard techniques to solve various murders. When high ranking justice personnel and military are 'bumped off' and there is no accounting in a court of law there is no Republic in fact, it is a dictatorship of fear. An old saying is give me the coroner and I'll give you the city. Door kicking in by SWAT teams is bull shit – we are not a nation of bullies. A little patience and things normally work out better. Disconnect waste water, water supply and electricity, shut off gas if possible, establish a dialogue with those inside. Let them know they can remain alive after capture.

While the U.S. pours money into its military around the globe, at home the offices of coroners are in shambles, Making it easy to 'give you the city'.

The only way to secure the border is building military strength there and the National Guard has to keep deporting all of those without docs. Can't stop, if you do, they start pouring across almost immediately
