Sounds like he got scared on the US side. In the DR of course people were paid to let it get through. Now let US Customs start asking questions as to how this got through and investigating.

20 mules were captured every month arriving to Spain from the DR. Just last March, 67 were put in jail. How many more need to be taken for this to stop?

Fellini . . . . . . .it would seem . . . . . . .that it will stop . . . . . ..when the europeans stop their cravings for the dust. Reminder . . . . . . .the magic dust is not produced in the D.R.
It would appear that it is produced by another country that is aware of the depraved addicts
in Spain and the rest of Europe. Lets not blame the victim please.

I understand no one wants to say it so I will. Lieonel and his people are putting the final touches on there NARCO STATE,that is why these many other drugs aren't caught on the DR side. So those who think that if the Europeans and Americans lower the demand for drugs then the DR problem will be solved are wrong. The most beautiful country in the world is a GATE WAY for anything illegal so whatever needs to be moved illegally will be moved through DR all over the world. The political class which includes both major parties and corrupt military and police are the reason for DR becoming a NARCO STATE. I'm sure Lieonels fans on this site think that he has done a good job, they probably think that everything is fine as long as they get there money.

All the people who are members of the two major parties or who think Lieonel and his people are doing a good job it is your fault that DR is becoming a NARCO STATE and is already a GATE WAY country for everything illegal. I know you would rather keep things quiet act as if nothing is wrong. You will call be undominican or that I am antidominican. I don't care what you think. I love DR ,what is happening to it and it's people is so sad. I know you don't care about that as long as you get yours. That attitude is the reason why it's your fault you don't love your country you love your leader the most corrupt president in the history of DR. I blame you more than him.

Well, from where I am standing, the desire to transport drugs is rampant because of the desire to get ahead.

I can't say it's only the poor who try this because we all have read about that multimillionaire (from Spain) who is in prison for the 1,200 kilos (Torre Bldg). We all know about these guys who get caught and are later found to be worth 100+ million dollars. Why didn't they stop at 5 million or 3 million?

My take is that they get into it initially to get ahead and then they stay in it to "keep up with the Joneses" or in the local cases, to "keep up with the peloteros".

are u fooling with the most beautiful country in the world?
and are u talking with the trash in the streets or with out the trash in the streets?.

what the dr is a place where nothing is for real.
where people who live in this 'most beautiful place in the world" are afraid to come out of their homes, where we live behind bars , where the army and the police "bring their own crime wave to the people of the dr." where millions of dominicans spend 1/2 their lives in the dark no luz., where the government treats their own people like slaves, where their in no education in the this most beautiful place u speak of. yeah sure!!!!

get ahead my ass. its called greed., people that want to get ahead go to school, study, work and travel down the right path in life.
1,000 of dominicans have taken this path, the others who choose the drug business are "expletive" pieces of s------ who want it over night.
u know what i say to this {expletive} them let the all die or rot in jail.

A couple of facts for the bird brains above:

Heroin Trafficking

Traffic is heavy worldwide, with the biggest producer being Afghanistan. According to U.N. sponsored survey, as of 2004, Afghanistan accounted for production of 87 percent of the world's heroin.

The cultivation of opium in Afghanistan reached its peak in 1999, when 225,000 acres (350 square miles) of poppies were sown. The following year the Taliban banned poppy cultivation, a move which cut production by 94 percent. By 2001 only 30 square miles of land were in use for growing opium poppies. A year later, after American and British troops had removed the Taliban and installed the interim government, the land under cultivation leapt back to 285 square miles, with Afghanistan supplanting Burma to become the world's largest opium producer once more. Opium production in that country has increased rapidly since, reaching an all-time high in 2006. War once again appeared as a facilitator of the trade.

very well, then how about "jackasses, imbeciles" idiots, or doofuses?' how about 'pinheads" i'am sorry dear reader. forgive me, generally speaking, iam not much for name calling.
it lowers the level of of discourse, it forestalls thoughtful response and it does not suggest and excess of class.

danny00 if you really read what I wrote you would see that I addressed the hardships of the citizens made much worse by Lieonel and his gang. By beauty I obviously spoke of the physical caribbean beauty of DR but I guess that's not to obvious to you. I agree with most of your rant. But I don't judge people on how they make there money when surviving is the goal. Even if you get an education there are no jobs unless you know someone. The political elite and there fans don't think of the people they think of themselves. I thought I was clear on how bad things are in DR when I called it a GATE WAY country and a future NARCO STATE but you are so busy looking for an arguement that you missed that.

i dont believe the drug problem in the world will ever be stopped. only reduced, and that will only happen by increasing the penalties and causeing people to think before they act. people who deal and traffic drugs are fully prepared and willing to destroy the lives of other people involved at eather end of the deal.

It is the same in all countries the authorities move the large portions of drugs they are the only ones that can get way with moving heavyweight.

Lets be clear: most of the drugs are consumed in the U.S., Europe, asian countries, etc. Not all or any significant amount of the drugs go through the D.R.
Now lets say the U.S. for example, one of the top consumers: somehow those HUGE LOADS of drugs GOT IN. Does it mean that the authorities in the U.S. . . . . ."were looking the other way" ? as described above? The answer is N O. It was once said that "even paranoid people have enemies". The same way everything is not corruption in the D.R., the U,S. etc. Others mention the U.S. and the war on drugs, that is why the afghan topic is illustrated.

The authorities allow the drugs to enter and move about in any country that's the only way it is possible.Hell most of the time they bring them in.

SAZON you are doing what Lieonel and his gang like to do and that is change the subject. It is true that the drug issue has many factors BUT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.
You say that corruption is not everywhere another popular thing Lieonel and his people like to say. Corruption is everywhere that has power and that directly effects DR's ability to fight drugs DNCD, Police, Military, Presidency, Diputados, Senate and DNI so it is everywhere. If you are a fan of Lieonel, because you sound just like him and his people then you are to blame for this mess, I blame you. So just stop trying to change the subject, I know that if you are part of that group you don't like it.I dont have any allegiance to any party but to my fellow Dominican and to a country I love,to bad I'm in a minority.

Let it be known, that SAZON is not part of any political group. Further that SAZON is trying to address the multiple attacks written above agains the D.R. My parents were born in the D.R. and the previous 4 generations were also born in that glorious country that seems to be in the minds of so many. Again, the D.R. is not a producer or consumer of these drugs. Rather due to it's geographical position is being used and abused by the inhabitants of the "elite" countries that we all know to conduct their evil ways, regardless of who gets hurt. SAZON is completely against any and all illicit activity. SAZON repudiates corruption in any form. At the same time SAZON believes that not all the authorities of all the countries are corrupt as described by some that in fact appear to have a political agenda, and are always ready to blame the authorities if it rains, if it snows, etc. May La Virgen de la Altagracia always BLESS and PROTECT the Doninican Rep

Not a consumer, apparently you have not seen the crackheads in the capital. boca chica, sousa, and all over the streets of the DR. all aurthorities are not on the take just enough. It takes power and money and government to bring tons of drugs into or through a country. Last time I checked not one poor person owned a ship or plane to take drugs anywhere MR.( don't blame the aurthorities).

I have listed the corrupt places of power that are necessary for the ease with which drugs circulate in DR. No one has yet to say that I'm wrong when I say that these places of power are infested with corruption. How can anybody that is even a little neutrality continue to say that the authorities are not all corrupt. It seems simple for me to make the connection that if these places of power are corrupt then ALL the authorities in DR are corrupt. If we can all agree that the people who hold the greatest power in these places of ultimate power which I will list again the Presidency,Diputados,Senate,DNCD, Police,DNI and Military are all corrupt how can any body tell me that all authorities in DR aren't corrupt. If the people with the power are corrupt were is there space for the uncorrupted. How many times haven't we seen example of corruption and no one has been punished. This happens because those with the power to punish are corrupt which gives everybody under them impunity.
