Santo Domingo.– Leavy Yanira Nin Batista, brought from Madrid via the Las Americas International Airport Saturday night, had been negotiating her surrender with Dominican authorities for more than three months.
The fugitive and the wife of Puerto Rican kingpin and murder convict Jose Figueroa Agosto even met with the authorities in order to arrange her surrender, according to National District prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso.
Nin would appear before the Second Court of Instruction for a hearing on coercive measures, after a preliminary hearing she must face on charges that have been filed against her, such as money laundering, criminal association, falsification of public documents and the use of false documents.
