Santo Domingo.– In the past six months the United States has deported more 2,000 criminals back to the Caribbean, of which 1,066 were Dominican, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported.

The figures show that from the start of the 2011 fiscal year in October to the end of March this year, 88,497 criminal "aliens" or migrants were deported to their birth country in the Latin America and the Caribbean region.

The number sent back to Latin America alone stood at 86,469 while 2,028 were sent back to the Caribbean. In terms of the number of deportations, the  Dominican Republic is followed by Jamaica with 528 and Trinidad and Tobago with 125.

Belize received 74 followed by The Bahamas with 65 and Guyana 64. So far this fiscal year, 50 migrants have been sent back to Aruba and 31 to the earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Other Caribbean nations received far less criminal deportees: Cuba (20), Barbados (11), Dominica (10), St Lucia (7) and Antigua (5).

I wonder what checks are kept on the criminal element when they are back in the DR . The reason I ask is that I know of a street in a poor area of la Romana that has been terrorised by two criminals sent back from the USA .
I imagine that these ex criminals take up their old habits of drug dealing and assaults when they return to the DR ..it is a very big worry in our society that is increasingly nervous about venturing outside their homes at night .

There are more than 1.3 million Dominicans living in the USA , with the highest concentration in new york and new jersey , Dominicans have the highest percentage in prison than of any other country ,,based on numbers living in the usa ...and if you take a figure of 5% which is lower than the percentage for black americans , then that gives the number of Dominican prisoners at around 65,000.
It could be argued that when only 3 or 4 thousand are sent back to the DR , that this is a low percentage of Dominicans in USA prisons , but may be these are the very worst ..
What ever the reason I am sure some form of monitoring is required simply because history shows a pattern of reoffending .

I don't know why there is no treaty between the US and DR, akin to what exists between the US and other countries.

Most inmates don't serve the full term in the US, and they are deported just like that.

Treaties in other cases specify that the country of destination will receive the prisoner as if he were starting a new term equivalent to the remainder of his US jail term.

So they can evaluate and keep tabs on the cons.

Obviously, the current system pleases them. Those guys look pretty happy. How long was it since they had a trago de Brugal con una chamaca?

I know that all of these deportees have to check in with the PN but after that who knows. I am sure that most of these guys would my first suspects in any crimes. Anyways, at least call centers have a new bunch of potential employees. My wife spent time working in one, and she said most of the other employees were deportees and many would fumar la vaina on their breaks and there was a lot of identity teft and bank fraud going on there. Also the payroll was stolen a few times at gun point. She hated that job.

The biggest criminals on our island are the ones in charge of protecting it. Why would they want to keep tabs on criminals being sent back to ravage our local communities when that would require work? We have much bigger problems starting with our leader who is bed with criminals making his money from them. Our government defines corruption. Our legal system is a complete joke and we haven't even mastered electricity yet! If we took back all money and assets LF and his political friends have stolen from us in the last 8 years we could pay off all our debts and be a debt free country tomorrow. What a thought huh?

DR should not accept them back. Likely as not the US has turned them into criminals. It's up to the US to rehabilitate and educate them then maintain them on parole.

US after all gets rich from all the work carried out by immigrants from the DR who work at very low rates.

Good thing in the U.S we have the revolving door which lead to 3 strikes and your out, private security, car alarms, home alarms, hidden video cameras, low-jack, home computer security monitor systems, I.D theft protection companies, neighborhood watch programs, CCW permits, watch dogs heck we even have pepper spray and electric zappers not to add self defense such as karate, kung-fu etc..etc.. under the name of promoting good health and exercise.

Let's see with high unemployment rate and the lure of quick easy money could the DR be headed for a.....just in time for the 'hot summer months' mini crime wave with the new criminal skills obtain in the U.S by these deportees ?

God I hope not.

come on riosm don't try and pull the wool - it won't wash!
what happens in the states is that young people commit crime so their parents pay for them to go to brat camps. When they return they have really high status.
At boot camps and the like young people get really good training to be criminals. They seldom get caught. Estimates are that in some communities 30% are engaged in some criminal activity.
When a poor, badly trained Dominican falls among these American Fagin's he ends up the fall guy and gets caught.
Of course the US should rehabilitate the Dominicans.

This is the type of news I hate to see about the Dominican Republic. These morons and delinquents give all the law abiding and society enhancing good Dominicans a bad rap. I am an American Immigration lawyer and I have had offices here in the DR for the past four years. Every time I read of these deportees it makes me sad and sick at the same time. Sad because many of my current and past clients, who so desperately want to join their families are often denied a visa for reasons that go unexplained ( I am sorry to say, but here are many of the reasons that the US, Spain and other European countries have gotten so strict on immigration policies). Sick because these degenerates ruin it for the much larger percentage of law abiding Dominicans.

Certainly not good to issue visas to Dominicans and others to visit the USA - many will get corrupted, end up in prison or deported. US has a huge and increasing prison population.
Most likely the US does a Dominican a favor or helps the Dominican Republic when it refuses a visa.
The Dominican could end up in the corrupt prison system.
http://tomdiaz.wordpress.com/2009....house-prison-corruption-part-one/
Or if its someone with qualifications gets a visa and the DR will loose a nurse, a doctor, an engineer.
Europe is quite rightly trying to use more local people for jobs and reduce special categories for visas. UK just killed the category for take-away chefs - burger flipper. Now a chef coming to the UK has to show good training in their home country and a record of earning good money there.

Those that the US has trained in crime should be rehabilitated before expulsion.

the black eyes for all dominicans.
it all comes back to the education problem.
the point is that investments in science, technology and math education is needed for the dominican students.if the dr is to be catapulted into the the modern world technology is so crucial to society that people rarely stop to think that, on its own technology does not accomplish much, integrating technology into everyday life is what makes it indispensable.
in 1960 this might be hard to imagine, but it took a dozen employees almost three hours to book one seat on american airlines.
today it takes an average of three seconds.
the world becomes ever more competitive.the dr must invest into science, technology and math education. or the plane's will continue landing in santo domingo every month.

I believe legal immigration should not be regulated.

Only a very small percentage never return to prison or live a life of crime.

Low prison population like the "United Wild Kingdom" [UWK] what crime ?

Smart move......If it's not a written law then one then can't break the law.

Mass public unrest about lost union entitlements, large radical Muslim population.

Myself like many who post on DT would never visit or vacation in the UWK anyway.

Thailand were if one is caught chewing gum one can be imprisoned, a little public caning now and then, death penalty, stiff prison sentencing and lot's of child prostitution / pornography and the worship of there penis god.....what law ?

South Africa.....swift public executions by the locals, no need for prisons.

As far as Japan is concern it's their culture, honor and upbringing besides they have enough of their own problems already.

As far as McDonalds......no more happy meals, extra drive throws or hot coffee to go with your next order.

1. These victims were found in a awkward place.
2. Shot in the head execution style ?
3. Possible robbery / kidnapping / loured ?
4. Maybe these two were in over there heads [literally] over something ?
Things aren't always as they seem.

All I say if the U.S. wants to end criminality amongst people who migrate here and make sure that when they deport them back to there country of origins that they are jailed in that country or else tell that government if they don't adhere to this no more aid, no more money, sent to those countries I garuantee you those corrupt politicians would make sure to enforce the laws and make sure those criminals don't go back and do harm to the native people who are law abiding citizens. So many countries rely on the U.S. for help and it's to our advantage that we put a stop to the criminals who come here and don't obey our laws. This goes for any country including U.S. territories.

Ever considered all the Black music entertainers, producers, politicians, athletics, teachers, lawyers and business owners etc..etc.. how much do they help their fellow Black people ?

In my opinion a good percentage of Blacks in America today are still living in the "invisible chains of slavery" mentality.

Why is it that more then half of the Black children in America don't have Black fathers around ?

Why is it Black on Black crime is still higher then Black on White, Asian or Latino crime ?

Why is it Black rap degrades Black woman and woman in general ?

Why why why ?

Me two both Parents, in the DR we also have the same problem.

Black Americans were not the first or last ones who lived under oppression in American.

We Dominicans are like the real original melting pot of the western hemisphere.

Our current Prez. is identified by many Blacks in Americans as being Black [first Black Prez.] yet they forget he's half White.

400 years....is this an excuse or your answer ? I'll still call it the "invisible chains of slavery" it's a mind set, you nor I were ever slaves. It's like taking one step froward then taking two steps back.

One can only take responsibility for now and the future, many Blacks in America from childhood have been embedded with this "It's not your fault, your ancestors were slaves".

The other day I heard a Black call another Black "my nigga" Blacks owning Blacks now ?

Why is it Blacks use that "Nigga" word ?

Only they could offend themselves ?

I Even find that word offensive.

Victims of your own beliefs ?

The million dollars question is...when will reality kick in ?

To assume that there are only 3 ways off the island is only proof there is a lot to be learned here.

Most Dominicans enter the U.S the legal way like millions of immigrants from all nations around the world.

I remember in the 60's there was a call for blacks by Blacks to return to Africa.

My parents and family migrated LEGALLY when Trujillo made life impossible 4 them.

Slaves of your own minds ? Could that be the real problem with Blacks in America today ?

I'm reminded of the bus boycott [Rosa Parks] a real show of economic power, now it's power has been perverted the whole 1960's equal rights movement that so long have Black activist fought so hard to obtain.

The only economic power I see is degrading to Black Woman in general all for DA MONEY !

THE DREAM TURNED NIGHTMARE.

I wonder what MLK if alive today would say to this ? Blacks got it but refuse to use it many would rather live the Ghetto life style all by choice.

Just so you know I grew up during the 60's in south central L.A so if you like I can give a history lesson of what not to do for your people, just so you know Latino's are no different.

Where do I start,,,

Under California State Ed. code / law, have you heard of parental laws ? I played father, brother and best friend.

Kids are a carbon copy of their screwed up parents, the apple does not fall from the tree.

In California we call them "strawberry's" or "blackberry's" [first class / rate ho's] trading their ass for crack in every major city and ghetto in the U.S.

One baby gets you a welfare check, food stamps, section 8, county medical, two gets you double and so on. Under Obama kids have become the new cash cow.

The same way others do...they apply and most wait, and many who do have family sign dependency wavers so they don't fall into the welfare class.

All peoples came to America by choice, well I won't say all.

Even the U.S illegals work selling oranges on street corners not pimping, robbing, stealing and street drug selling.

Good thing I left color out.

More to come....

Have you ever heard of Robert Woodson from the N.C.N.E in D.C.
In 1991 I went to the national leadership institute in Leesberg Virginia [xerox national training center]. later I did volunteer work in Washington D.C in Lincoln Heights and helped many youth in the D.C area.

I also did lots of work in Window Rock Arizona with Ester Yazi on the reservation. The Yazi roots go back 500 years, her great grandfather was killed in the Indian wars against the U.S Gov. in the mid 1800's.

I also worked with Leon Watkins from the family help-line and P.O.W Parents of Watts with Sweet Alice.

I also worked with the late Jack Kemp and William Bennet of EMPOWER AMERICA.

I can go on but for what....I have nothing to prove to you or anybody else other then the hundreds of youth I helped.

AND I DID IT ALL FOR FREE and asked for nothing in return, as you can see I did more then my share, how about you...or play color victim.

One could be part of the problem or the solution. Bragging....heck no ! If bragging is what I was after I'll write a book. When I was involved helping youth I refused to get into the politics, we call them "street pimps" organizations I can name a lot of them in L.A. .

I'm from the old school "put up or shut up". Helping others goes way beyond SELF, SELF SERVING, ME, MINE and I.

There was a whole lot names and organizations I did not post and will not post, what I did post I'm proud I served.

Do your Black people a real favor and quite putting into their minds it's some ones else's fault for the current condition there in.

I could judge you with "I've done my share" but I won't, but still I'm left wondering could that "Share" be again part of the problem or more of the same finger pointing with no solutions.

Yes, countries like Mexico have been impaled by the US forcing their populations to seek exodus to the US. Many just end up in the hugely profitable prison system working for absolutely nothing in todays reincarnation of the chain gang.
Others have no choice but to sell drugs or engage in suspect business practices such as pushing worthless mortgages.
The good people in the US mostly live in shacks or their own self contained communities.
The US has most of the responsibility for the global drug problem because its morally bankrupt citizens sitting on huge resources provide a huge and tempting market promoted and publicized by the kings of Hollywood.

hello, there is something everyone needs to know about the US. somebody said it in one of these posts, "You get out what you put in"!

My two grandfathers were Irish immigrants to the US over 4 decades ago. they went there with nothing. One an orphan and the other a from a destitute farming family. They both worked hard all their lives. They sacrificed their lives for the future. The future was my parents, uncles, aunts and now me and my cousins. My one grandfather said get an education it is the one thing nobody can take from you. He was a slave to GM, but his work enabled me to become the first "professional" (a lawyer) in the family. Their sacrifice. Yeah, you know what, they could have went the easier route, organized crime. Hell, you don't think there were Irish mobsters. Study your history. What the hell were the Kennedys? Bootleggers. They were some of the US's first mobsters and the US's answer to royalty. Spare me. Old man Kennedy was nothing more than a drug dealer.

(con't) You get out what you put in. You want it easy there is a cost. Ask the Kennedys. They have paid a hefty price for the what they have or had. Was it worth it? I do not think so. So no more excuses. People say if people do not use the drugs then there would be no more drug dealers. Poppycock! Legalize it and tax it. Cut out the middleman. It worked to a degree with alcohol. I am sick of all this BS.The deportees chose there lives. Now they need to live with the consequences just like the Kennedys! Nothing in life comes without a cost.

My father has always said, "Work hard, keep your nose clean and good things will happen to you." I live by those words! What principals do these people (deportees) live by???

These are the same people that when you quote the price for the service say, "wow, that is a lot. can't you do it more "economically" ?"

yeah, sure, you (those who don't play by the rules or do not take into account the consequences of their choices) have a huge problem and you think that the cost to fix it is going to be negotiable. My God, at least the Kennedys understood (for the most part) that price for playing the game by their rules is not cheap! That goes for every other person that finds themselves in similar circumstances and comes back to this planet and the realization that the solution is costly.

I want one thing to be clear, I am not perfect but I live with the consequences of my past decisions everyday, however unpleasant they may be.

I was referring to the new social spending mentality Obama has brought on the U.S tax payers.

I'm sure your home sick...sick and tired of the Cuban system but afraid to admit it ?

Yet your still in the DR enjoying, let me see.....FREEDOM !

I will say...for someone who hates the U.S system your in the DR enjoying a life style just like the U.S system.

While the Cuban people struggle and suffer from shortages of food and basic necessities with no future....meanwhile Fidel and the socialist gang are living the Cuban high life [little extra only] in their Prez. palace.

Imagine......what if your Uncle Fidel spent as much on the Cuban people as he does on HIS military you'll still be in Cuba yourself with a little extra.

In Cuba your uncle arms and preps for an invasion that will never come.....the U.S won !

Our self-righteous Yankee counterparts pompously pontificate and point fingers at the planet, but they usually fail to look at themselves in the mirror. The U.S. created its own decadent culture of ultra-materialism, rampant consumerism, the "me generation", instant pleasure living, and getting high on drugs. It then saturated the planet with its sick film industry, and its syndicated TV shows which further contaminate the planet with their decadent culture. Then the U.S. will never admit to its historical mistake of intervening in D.R. in 1965, and being mostly responsible for everything that ensued after that. Has anybody figured out yet why Uncle Sam's permanently failed project of Anglo-Saxon social darwinism in the Carribean, namely the imperial satrapy of Macondo (P.R.), is a basket case, how on God's earth will the same work in D.R.? Uncle Sam never seems to learn the lessons of history.

You mean the liberal, radical, druggies of the 1960's [hippies are modern day yuppies] one should not blanket coat all in America that's foolish.

"Sick film industry" do what I do....don't watch it, buy it and sure as heck you warn your children of it, focus on our country's own sexual exploitation, disrespect of our woman, sex toy / pleasure only mentality, fatherless children and a host of other problems.

If you feel the "1965" was a mistake I have a suggestion....make the Cuban move and get a taste of that life style I'm sure you'll change your mind.

PSST.....Avoid the tourist sections in the DR so you don't get sexually corrupted.

Maybe I've been getting the wrong downloads from authoritative articles recently, but by 2016 the People's Republic of China will have surpassed decadent U.S.A. as the world's unquestioned no. 1 economic power. Cuba? That's the biggest laugh of them all! Try learning some Spanish (unless you are a native Spanish speaker already), tune Cubavision Internacional (which you'll probably harp it's a propaganda machine, as though CNN weren't), and you'll stay on the ball how the Revolution is updating its economic model, bringing it in tune with 21st Century Socialism which is definitely the way go now. It is inevitable that their turn will come and that they will exercise what they see as their legitimate right, and no one will be able to stop them.

Ronald Reagan-Now you're up my alley mate. When I spent 6 months in San Francisco in 1993, I came across bunches and bunches of homeless, especially in the downtown area. Many of these several thousand homeless were African-Americans, and within that group, I noticed a considerable percentage of the mentally-ill. It so happened that I mentioned this fact to a local social worker who knew the scene very well, going back to Reagan's incumbency as Governor. This social worker narrated the human drama of these African-American mentally-ill homeless, which by the way were kicked out of the city bus terminal, made famous by a Ted Danson flick with Macaulin Caulkin. These homeless were coldly kicked out of the bus terminal as their place to spend the night, due to the terminal director's words that "we're not in the homeless business". How did these mentally-ill become homeless? Thanks to the de-institutionalization of the mentally=-ill from state facilities during Reagan's governorship.

i did not specify you as being white. however, your antipathy towards Obama sounds like that from the angry white men, who endorse the birther controversy regarding where Obama was born. nobody challenges the origins of any white president. if Obama was a white guy called John Smith, that issue would have never have arisen. similarly, to refer to him as a ¨socialist ¨is irrational, and emotionally derived. his willingness to stick with the unaffordable tax cuts proves otherwise. the fact that he tries to legislate for affordable health care for all people is morally right, not based in some Marxist philosophy. nowhere is it written that only certain people should be allowed access to medical treatment. we are not talking about the ownership rights to Maseratis here. those of us who defend the health care bill are simply saying that Donald Brown from the ghetto should have just as much right to a medical procedure as Donald Trump. you may not like it, but that is how i see it.

The above link-The Ethiopian planetary emperor as I irreverently call him (Obama), is a moderate Republican of the 1990s. If memory serves me right, I believe maybe four emperors of the late Roman Empire came in fact from the (North) African provinces, so saying that Obama is an Ethiopian emperor might not be that much off the mark. If you ask my opinion about Obama, not living Stateside when he was elected, but watching his career, what little I learned led me to think that he was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread for the U.S.A. Time has revealed that he's just another opportunist, who instead of being President, is what most men are in that position as of lately. In his case he is a 2.0 version of a caretaker President who takes care of the NWO-Planetary Government's agenda in all Continents. In Latin America his prestige is already rock-bottom, except for lackeys of imperialism like Pinera of Chile, an industrialist himself. In short Obama has let down everybody.

Obama has actually tightened the genocidal embargo on Cuba, spat on the sacred altar of the historic memory of nations, when he brushed aside the question of U.S. historical responsibility on the 1973 coup against Allende in Chile. When traveling to Latin America, he came really empty-handed, and didn't accomplish hardly anything, for the already out of sync U.S. foreign policy in the region. In the Middle East, Obama is seen as an imperial hypocrite who backs the bloody Al Khalifa hereditary dynasty in Bahrain which brutalizes the population, and tows an opportunist line with Egypt, whereupon the youth movement there recently told him off by shunning Hillary Clinton's visit. He has given new wind to the NWO and European neocolonialism-imperialism by the "humanitary" and genocidal bombing of Libya, while keeping mum about Israel's genocidal bombing of Gaza. He harps about Syria's effort to ascertain national sovereignty against subversives, yet is buddy to bloody Saudi Arabia.

Obama's opportunist, cosmetic and hypocritical foreign policies from Latin America to Afghanistan, have been long discerned as a last ditch effort for Imperial America, to maintain a bloody grip on the planet at whatever cost, continuing the genocidal bombings in Pakistan/Afghanistan and now the Predators are having a heyday with the civilian populations in Libya, thanks to the Ethiopian Emperor. As the Empire loses its grip on the planet, it will continue to try to reign in the remnants of its military-colonial enclaves like Iraq & Afghanistan and other client states. I'm afraid the Middle East, when it finally gets to its climactic fusion point, could very well be the region that hammers the nails in the coffin of U.S. planetary imperialism. If not, we in Latin America are happily and enthusiastically in cue, so when the time comes we can give the apocalyptic boot in the posterior to the U.S./Canada imperial tandem, and rid ourselves of those vampires which have sucked our blood.

95 percent of blacks voted for him, so what does that prove? how many white people in states like Wyoming voted for him? yes, give me percentages. people give me this asinine stuff about black people voting for a black candidate, as if white people do not do the same. a black man has never been president before, and you cannot blame black people for making sure that the historical record is changed. the fact that white people voted for Obama is that they could not vote for McCain, so, they took the line of least resistance. it is not that they all just loved him. McCain just stunk up the joint too badly.

riosm, try to understand some basic sociology here. Obama is a Democrat, and a black man. black people have traditionally voted Democrat. it is a confluence of two things.JC Watts is a black man, who is a republican. he cannot draw flies in the black community. get the picture?

Dreadlocks,

Blacks voted color only in 2008 ?

43% White and 87% Latino voted for him, I'm sure if those voted against "Oh'No" in 2012 the race card is sure be an issue.

What's the % of blacks in Wyoming anyway ?

People did have a third & fourth party to vote for or....not vote at all. Sly, slick "Oh'No" targeted the young voters [M.T.V rock the vote] who don't know all the issues only what the liberal educators teach them like "Oh'No"... ignorance is bliss ? It got him elected.

I used to be Democrat until about 25 years ago....no more after the Carter years that was enough for me !

The Democratic party radical take-over by left wing liberals of the 1960's.

As a great Black leader once said "Man should be judged by character not the color of their skin" funny he never proclaimed his leadership role yet....PEOPLE SAW LEADERSHIP IN HIM.

Dreadlocks, who cares if he is black white or purple you fool. This illegal is working for the cartel to bring down your nation and the world financially. The time is very near. I suppose you also believe Bin Laden was killed yesterday by US forces? The SOB has been dead for over 8 years. You are a fool. The Washington banker mafia cartel decided it was time to close this chapter out of their playbook.

VivaCuba,

Please hold back the hate your beginning to sound like ElBuscoon, again you sound like a birther.

Dead is dead period. "The SOB" you got that right.

Here we have a Prez. with no military background what's so ever who's wife made a negative statement about America before the 2008 elections. All he did was give the order to proceed.

Not to taken as a insult, but......

Always those darn "Washington mafia cartel" "Yankee's" "Gansta" type.....change the station, get a new unscratched record, change your one track mind, step out of the time wrap it's the year 2011.

If any thing so what 1, 8 years dead now......he's dead period let this be a lesson learned don't mess with the U.S.

I hope nobody uses this victory against terrorism as a re-elect promo for "Oh'No" in 2012....talk about the possibility of pimping the dead !

I could see it now the next u-tube conspiracy Bin Laden is a distance relative / half brother of "Oh'No".

Take care.

riosm," Please hold back the hate your beginning to sound like ElBuscoon, again you sound like a birther. Riosm, I am a birther! Why do you have aproblem with that when the evidence has and remains CLEAR? (Osma)... Dead is dead period. He was dead idiot 8 years ago. "The SOB" you got that right.

You either have no intelligent idea on what you are commenting on (by studying history), or you are working for the establishment, or both.

You probably do not even have a gringo passport and have never left your land of freedom. Are you on a respirator?

VivaCuba,

A birther, a Cuban birther I'm shocked .....good a free open mind thinker and your Cuba ? Only in the DR !

Can you prove Bin Laden's been dead for 8 years, if so just post ! Or did you get this bit of info. from your Tio's Cuban one sided gov. ?

"The SOB" part I agree 100%, he got what he deserved, better late then never huh ! Next.

I've been to more places around the world then you'll ever dream about, and I traveled freely too to the DR and back. How about you ?

One does not need a "gringo" passport to travel....unless your from Cuba then your limited, and still you live in my beloved DR not Cuba, why ?

History you only believe it when it benefit's your one sided mentality form your one only Cuban Gov. media that supports your "Yankee gansta" U.S Gov.

Did time stop in Cuba ?

Just so you know when I post I cut through the bull, cut through the chase and get to the point, notice I even got you responding, exposed ! You do that yoursel

vivacuba, did you forget your medications today? you sound like some 1960s student activist, replete with conspiracy theories, and all. trust me on this one, cuba. i have been around longer than you have. whatever you think you know, i have heard it all before. your notion that Bin Laden has been dead for over 8 years cannot be substantiated by factual evidence. if it can, please present it. in the absence of proof to that effect, your meanderings are nothing but the product of a damaged mind. try to be a little less doctrinaire in your presentation, because you are not really a heavyweight thinker. now try to comport yourself in a more civil fashion, befitting the requirements of an academic setting. if that proves to be too daunting a task, we would welcome your return to nintendo and playstation, leaving this ecosystem to the adults.

Dreadlocks,

I could of not said it better myself with my limited American education.

Remember.....VivaCuba can't help himself he relies on what he only knows or what is allowed to know....this happens when a one Cuban sided controlled media spoon feeds one.

The Cubans are really bright people they can make a 1950's vintage AMERICAN MADE car still run without replaceable parts. Cuba a "Prison Island" frozen in time...the 1950's with the same political mentality.

VivaCuba....enjoying the best the DR has to offer, is it any wonder why he won't be headed back to Cuba soon ?

Notice: VivaCuba hates Bin Laden, questions "Oh'No's" birth, not thrilled that Bin Laden attacked the WTC the symbol of American world wide economic might why I'm willing to bet he struggles daily in his mind and questions his Uncle's failed ideology, more like seeing the light / common sense.

I will admit the U.S is not perfect but then what nation is...Cuba ?

thanks, riosm. vivacuba is just some deluded malcontent who believes he invented dissent and activism. he believes that he knows something about imperialism and oppression that is a deep, dark secret to the rest of us. well, some of us were around in the sixties, actually fighting for civil rights, and running from the forces of intimidation. now this Starbucks revolutionary comes on the site with his adolescent firebrand style, insulting those whom he thinks know less than he does. where was he when i was sitting in on lectures in the late 60s from true Caribbean revolutionaries like Walter Rodney, Dr Trevor Munroe, and others like them? mind your manners, vivacuba...adults are present

Dreadlocks,
Once again you have my respect showing the true HUMAN spirit by overcoming past obstacles, I myself suffered racism first hand in south L.A during the 60's being Dominican not quit fitting in with the folks in my neighborhood. Some just dwell on the past it gives them purpose in life.

I'm a strong believer all Humans have the same want's and needs, it's how one goes about obtaining it then what one does with it that counts.

I thank the almighty daily for having the opportunity to have lived and been raised in the U.S with all she has to offer.

I think sometimes ElBuscoon and VivaCuba are the same person, if I'm proven wrong GOOD minus the personal attacks I have no problem with that at least it will serve to open my sometimes closed mind....hopefully to the benefit of those who post and read on DT.

As the old saying goes "don't waste your time trying to expose someone, give it time they'll expose themselves".

Take care my friend.

VivaCuba,

Shark / sea / crab food, under the sea, maybe he'll hook-up with one virgin mermaid ?

While the current administration is debating / deciding whether to make public his death photos public because they don't want to offend Muslims.....I say the heck with that.

I wonder how much debate / discussion was used when the cold blooded terrorist decided to decapitate live Americans on live T.V for the world to see.

If it were my decision I'll........

What a joke ! Your using your DR gained free will / thinking [yes the rewards of free self thinking] ...proof your crackin without the crack, watch out your control freak Tio Fidel may see you as a worthless propaganda Cuban risk then pull your Cuban passport and order you back to Cuba.....for life, that would be a shame.....or will it ?

Quick time to defect before it's to late ! You can use political asylum we'll understand, you better hurry before it's to late !

I wish you luck.

riosm, the respect is mutual. you see, some of us talk the talk, while others have walked the walk. some things stick in my mind, and will follow me to the grave. i remember how my late mother broke down into inconsolable tears when she was disallowed entry to a movie house in Miami, because we are black. it was not that she wanted to see the movie that badly, but that the disrespect shown to her, in front of her child, was just too much to bear. so, when some guy who sits in coffee houses reading Franz Fanon gives me a lecture on ANY human injustice, he better couch it in respectful terms, because i am almost always correct in saying that i have seen things he only reads about while drinking his 6 dollar mocha latte.

Dreadlocks,

I also remember my father taking my family to the movies Saturday afternoons 25 miles north to the San Fernando Valley you see new released movies, we had 2 movie theaters on Slauson & Vermont Ave. showing 10+ old movies. I also remember my Mother being ignored and shunned away at the snack bar.

Also I remember my Mother in the early 60's saying she could not understand why Whites and Blacks did not get along in America, my Mother would always say....In the DR color was never an issue people are people.

Still I harbor no ill feelings towards anybody.

I remember when I was overseas in Pam Mun Jom, Korea those north communist Koreans would point their AK's & SKS at us, funny they were not picky what color we were only what we represented...... the American U.S Army.

Take care my friend.

P.S. Never mind VivaCuba he's only exercising his DR gained freedom to laugh without fear of being persecuted.
