Santo Domingo.- Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez on Monday criticized the abusive and global campaigns which aside from funding abortion, spark armed robberies, drug trafficking and the abuse of children as well, which he calls the “culture of death” that grips the world.

Santo Domingo’s Archbishop said all deaths, crimes of any and all sorts and forms of violations need to be focused within hat culture of death. “That‘s the shameful picture that the permissive societies and without clear ideas on the rules of morals have bequeathed.”

Speaking as a distinguished visitor in the commencement ceremony of the university UNPHU, the senior prelate affirmed that that what’s being observed in today’s world is a chain of errors.

He said the dimension of ethics is essential to man, between the ontological foundation of the personal being and the constituent dimension of the social, family and political being. “The culture of death has innumerable expressions, all of them macabre, which confluence in the shameless disrespect for life, contraception and in smaller scale euthanasia, already legalized in some countries.”

Yes, two-thousand and thirty some years ago. It is a sect, led by Issa Bin Yussuf, who is called god by his followers. Instead of working, he lives of alms and the support of ´disreputable´ women.

The culture of death started when he was killed by the religious and political leaders of the time.

People at the time said they ate children, now they just rape and abuse them.
Oh, but mr. Archbisshop, you are a follower of that sect. It is called the roman catholic church today.

Why so many people today are so "dumb" and follow Christianity? I think they should have followed GoneNative when he came up with his own idea of culture of death. Maybe, his wisdom will be followed for the next two thousand years.
Well, I wonder why the papacy is the oldest institution on earth? How was it able to survive more than all the past great empires on earth?
I can't wait to hear the great GoneNative answer to this question.

What happened to the peaceful culture that once inhabited this land...I believe they were called Taino. What did the church consider those Tainos who did not convert to Catholicism? That's right...the devil. And who killed those they consider the devil??? The church!

So much for ethics!

@razon, I will have to think about that one, or maybe write a book about it....
Power and force dear Razon. The Church had absolute power, and the Papacy is not only the oldest institution on earth but also still one of the most powerful intstitutions. And they did not hesitate to use military force, suppression, witch-hunts, the crusades etc. to enforce it.

Today , outside Mega Centro ,I saw 2 girls about 12 years old so thin and desperate looking and begging, and both with thin very young babies and I wondered why they had not had an abortion or had not insisted on contraception ..I can not understand how the Catholic Church can keep promoting a population policy that is ignored by their own followers in Europe and the USA because of the tragedy that unwanted births bring . I am glad that when a person is in desperate incurable pain or is a vegetable with outpower of movement or thought , that someone with a good heart says enough is enough and stops life .
This archbishop has comments that bring misery and pain to many in the DR ...please assist by free condoms, a properly regulated abortion clinic for desperate women and a crematorium ,,just forget the body and look after the soul please .
