SANTO DOMINGO. - President Leonel Fernandez will go to Haiti to attend Haiti president elect Michel Martelly’s inaugural on May 14, that country’s incoming chief executive said.

Haiti’s elected leader made the announcement after meeting with Fernandez in the National Palace Wednesday, and called his visit to the Dominican leader a courtesy and to strengthen bilateral relations.

Without providing details, Martelly added that Haiti-Dominican relations, border and immigration topics were also discussed.

Leonel Fenandez better set the recod straight with Michel Martelly and outline that although we like his compa moves, he better be dancing back to Ayiti with all the illegals being sheltered in the DR.
Haiti's continuous and unabated transfer to the DR of their poor, sick, unemployed and homeless citizens can not be allowed, looking the other way. This illegal immigration, sponsored besides Haiti, by the developed countries that do not want Haitians immigrating illegally to their shores, can not continue as it has, NO MORE.
The illegal immigration sadly displaces the poorest Dominicans, and forces them to emigrate themselves to other nations, in their desperation.
Other countries have been taken over by this "transfer" of foreigners, and if the DR does not reverse urgently the flow of Haitian illegals, and send them back ASAP, we might find ourselves soon speaking creole in the DR, having voo doo as our official religion, and making space for Dessalines, in our national pantheon.

Generoso ,my old buddy how the heck are you ?
We still need to meet for the sancocho and a sip of Brugal(Brutal) on the Malecon.

Roso, get a good grip. The character of the Dominican Republic is strong and exclusive. After all these years these two contries have been living together , it has become apparent that DR will nevre absorb Haitians ways of life by osmosis.
Haitians will continue to have this back and forth pilgrimage ,feeling wanted , unwanted uncomfortable and unable, incapable to live on DR territory permanently.

This pull and push phenomenon that Haitains have are been used to leave them in a state of living in " mean time " on Dominican soil. DR is not too good to stay ,not no bad to leave.
This leaves them very confused, edgy, desoriented, powerless and nomad .
Thas is the way that the policy makers on both sides want it.
Dominicans will never be able adopt the Dessalinnes' slogan" koupe tèt boulé kay (Chop heads off, burn down houses )

LF is willing to meddle in the affairs ans policies of any country. That is, of course, with thr exception of our country.

There he shows no interest whatsoever.

Savah bien.
I don't agree with the simplistic reasoning that Haitians will return, that is not the case of the great majority of the Haitian diaspora, that has immigrated to other, more affluent countries.
Maybe 20 years ago, that was the case of temporary migrating Haitian workers to the DR, but not now.
Haitians are escaping like passengers on a sinking boat, and they leave or bring nothing with them, so there is no urge to go back, to a life of misery and scarcity.
The DR can not continue absorbing Haitian poor, homeless, sick, unemployed into our food table, and we have reached our limits.
Illegals Haitians must be repatriated, and the border controls must be tightened to stop this mass
exodus into our country, that will end up bringing down the DR, and sink us too into another failed state.

The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
