The campaign of the ex chief executive announced the staging of an outdoor show at 182nd street between Amsterdam and Audubon avenues, where several blocks in Upper Manhattan will be closed to make space for the thousands of people it affirms  will attend to show support for Mejía.

Local and national performers will take the stage, on which the PRD candidate will address crowd.

Mejía is slated to arrive in Boston from Miami on Friday, June 24, and will meet with community groups, business leaders, and external supporters and campaign officials, and continue his tour including Rhode Island, Pennsylvania among other states.

How much is this vacation going to cost us?

How many buddies is he taking that we get to pay for?

Probably less than LF's upcoming vacation, but not bad for a warmup.

I can't wait until he starts to really piss away our tax money.

And don't forget when Hippo was president he screwed the IMF so many times that they stopped lending to us.

That's going to be a big problem because right now the money that the IMF is lending is the only thing keeping us from bankruptcy.

the answer to you is, MANY more than what you imagine will vote, the cause is the extremely bad goverment we have had under LF and the other SOBs...Just for the record, i'm voting for Guillermo Moreno, but the truth is that this guy has very high possibilities to win again, ALL of that because of this stupid goverment

Listen, should the PLD goverment would have been even close to what a goverment should be, the PRD and this man WOULD HAVE NEVER gotten a chance again, BUT that DID NOT happen, that is why i said there is a Goverment of Stupid people that don't understand that doing a lot of small things in MANY PLACES is way more effective than making a Mega project that NO ONE ASKED like the metro for example...

The TRUTH is that NO ONE on the PLD has any kind of moral to point to Hipolito Mejia, Why? becasue they have done even worst than him! so things instead of improving are actually getting WORSE, you just have to see the investigation programs of Nuria and Alicia Ortega, nobody has ever challenged them on a Trial or even dare, that speaks A LOT of them...

If this mule gets in office again, the peso will be at 100 pesos per dollar, foreign investment will be non existant, the country will not be stable, the construction industry will collapse and at the end of his term he will have nothing to show for and Dominicans will vote for Leonel Fernadez 80% to 20% as they did in 2004. If this man wins our nation will certainly set back 20 years.

He ain't gonna be talking English. He's going to go to places along the East coast with Dominican communities and do typical campaign BS.

Oh and there are plenty of people lining up in DR to vote for him. It's not really a vote for him though. It's more like a vote for PRD. People are just tired of PLD.

This is an excerpt from Wikepedia...

During his government the country was affected by one of the worst economic crisis in his history, generated by the bankruptcy of three major commercial banks in the country, which resulted in high inflation, high country risk rating, currency devaluation and increasing local poverty.[1][2

Need we say more?...

I am not visiting the Dominican Republic if he becomes President again.
I have watched many interviews he has given during his last Presidential term... and frankly... his Spanish and manner of expressing himself is embarrassing. Madre mia... que Mejia!

You guys just don't get the point do you?? is not a matter of what happened, is not a matter of personal taste of somebody who is overseas like most of people that write here which will not make a difference... i Strongly suggest that you find out how the dominicans that VOTE feel about the PRESENT goverment, RESEARCH with your friends and family that LIVE IN DR... if you would live in DR like I DO, and have enough cold blood to see things as they are, you will understand very easily how is it possible that he has plenty possibilities when he was practically DONE.

If somebody does the math and the analisys of the actions of the PLD goverment, like i.e. THE PAQUETAZO FISCAL that is waiting on the congress, or how i had to see a RIDICULOUS cut of ONE FUC*KING PESO on the gasoline price when the Oil Droped 14 DOLLARS in one week, will come to the fact that LF is a so selfish individual that he would never make it easier to anyone rule his own party or be the FIGURE of it's own party.

Another example JUST happened yesterday, the OIL went down by 6 DOLLARS, This Goverment INCREASED AGAINST THE LAW the price os the Fuel AGAIN...Do you understand why Hipolito Mejia has the advantage to win the presidency??? as i said, is not a matter of wheather persoanlly he is to liked...

@airgordo, i could care less WHAT you say about PLD or Leo, to be honest i would have voted for PRD too.....IF THEY HADN'T PICKED THIS DUMB@SS to be the candidate. If Leonel is an idiot then Hipolito is what he craps out when he goes to the bathroom. The Dominican people have a very short memory, us idiots believe things change in 8 years..it take DECADES upon DECADES for a country to become steadily successful, you can look at Leo's presidency, say he didnt do anything and then go @ss backwards and vote for this idiot. Out of all the CRAP he pulled last time he was in power, what scared me the most was when he told a reporter "Yo soy el jefe" guess who was the last person to say that in DR governmental history? TRUJILLO!. Look man, we just need to be patient living here that's all. But overall, not make rash decisions like go from Guatemala to Guatapeor....You know what it is to leave the dollar @14 pessos in 2000 and then find it @60 pesos in 2004? no excuses.

the dollar is 38.30 TODAY, but i'm paying HIGHER for ALL MY FOOD, on Friday i broke my record for the third Tim in less than 3 months BUYING THE SAME!!! my Mortage went from 10.95% TO FU*KING 16% in 3 MONTHTS!!! courtesy of the Idiot in power, so what do you want the people of this country to do with this??? if someone wants to UNDERSTAND dominican politics should begin with that and THIS:...2004 is almost 8 YEARS AGO, i need to pay my bills and eat TODAY and TOMORROW

I'm taking the time to write this assuming you are not on the PLD govt PAYROLL... I ALREADY have the person i will vote for and it is NOT the PLD or PRD or anything like that, my point is that if the elections were TODAY, hipolito would win on the first round by KO, that is the reality and if you have not seen that then you don't move along on the PUEBLO or you live in Siberia, that is what is going to happen if nothing dramatic from the comic goverment of the purpple IDIOTS comes..
