NEW YORK. - U.S. Bodega Owners Association (ASOBEU) president Ramon Murphy on Monday announced a reward to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the murderer of the Dominican “bodeguero” Jorge Marte (Georgi), gunned down during a holdup in his business last Friday.
“This reward aims not only to lead to the capture of the assassin of Mr. Marte, but to also send warning and a strong message to the thugs who‘ve seen the small businesspersons as like the weakest part for their criminal actions,” Murphy said.
Our institution will invest all the resources necessary to protect our associates,” added the head of the bodega organization.
Marte’s bodega, “Big Apple” is located in Hamilton Heights, in Dominican part of Harlem, NYC.
