Santo Domingo.- A man the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) says belongs to a narcotics trafficking ring formed by Dominicans, Mexicans and Colombians was handed over to United States authorities Wednesday, to face charges of money laundering and drug trafficking.

The DNCD said Leonel Gomez Guzmán (Leo or Tony) was taken to the Las Americas International Airport where Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents escorted him aboard the airplane registry N7734T headed to Boston, where the alleged criminal faces charges, together with other ring members, headed by the Mexican Luis Fernando Bertulucci (El Rey).

In a statement, DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón said Gomez and his alleged accomplices violated the US Code of Justice which penalizes that sanctions money laundering. “Gomez will face charges from a federal grand jury in Massachusetts, together with  Bertulucci, the Lebanese Marwan Chebli (Samir, El Turco), the Dominican Jose Antonio Contreras (Pepe) Miguel Antonio Ureña (El Piloto, El Gato), who’s a skilled pilot hired to transport the cocaine.”

“The network’s other presumed members, already extradited, are the Colombians Luis Fernando Restrepo (El Cabezon) Jose Luis Martinez Vidrio, who together with Bertulucci and the Dominican figures in the criminal case file 11-10019-DPW,” Lebrón said.

They disposed of this individual pretty expeditiously.

So what is the story with the infamous Tony Lena? Why couldn't they dispose of him just as expeditiously and stop making excuses by all of those "intetim judges"? Is all intertwined deep in the fabric of corruption, and just accepted as matter of course; no questions asked. Life goes on as normal, and the same damned no-good, corrupt-to-the-bones bastards stay in power. God, we desperately need a man with the testicular fortitude of a young Fidel, and the willingness to right a few wrongs. Certainly, we have no use for those pansies presently in power.

Anyone that's in the business and has something on Leonel, doesn't get released that easy. This guy was a competitor and wasn't allowed in leo's click.

Hope the US are more transparent than in Quirino and Maconi cases.

Once they're up there, it's hard to know what happens.
