Miches, Dominican Republic.- Police look in highways and fields of the East for two Haitians who allegedly gunned down a bus driver of the El Seibo-Miches route, 4 kilometers from the coastal town, and who posed as passengers.

The driver was identified as Martin Bonilla, 45, a retired military, while the passenger Yahaira Adelina Núñez has a bullet wound to her right hand.

According to Núñez and Maria Bermúdez, the Haitians had asked to be let off at the kilometer 7 marker, but when the driver stopped, “one of them stood next to the driver and the other took out 500 pesos supposedly to pay the fare."

Núñez added that the one next to the driver shot him, and when she tried to run, was reached by one shot to her right hand.

How the hell are these thugs getting weapons? Who the hell is selling guns to illegals? Time to start an investigation. Time to take off the gloves with sellers as well as end users.

Was this a robbery? The article did not specified since the two men seemed to have money and shot the guy as they pretended to pay.

If it was a robbery, then I just don't get it, why can't you just rob the guy, even if you get caught, you are not going to get much for petty theft, but as people have written here, these are sub-human animals without any sense of value of life? Same happen in Long Island NY recently when a drug addict killed 4 people in a Pharmacy to steal prescription drugs... I mean really, you just can't steal the meds and leave people alone? (the LI guy got caught btw)

Now, if this was not a robbery, look into the bus unions. The driver probably owed them money or violated some sort of route and the "DR owners" armed these two idiots for a thugish act.

and if they are the really haitians murderers, nothing told us that they are illegals.

From the details given it does sound like a hit. Kman what's up? (Comment et vous)? If they were legal residents then society in the island is just going to hell. As far as being Haitians, unless the witness heard an accent it is possible they could just have been real dark Dominicans as is common in that part of the country(eastern region). More information is needed.

I'm fine and you mr Vvenganzaderafael! yes it's sure it's an hit, but i don't see why in this article they talk about 2 haitian guys. i don't read any details for that.

'If they were legal residents then society in the island is just going to hell'
althought you can legal, you can commit mistake because you are not fully integrated. But it's not an reason to kill someone.

the danger is that every time there is a crime in the DR, it is Haitians who will be designated as the culprit.
happy i'm not living in DR. Even you are legal, when you are haitian, you have the responsability of all the crimes commit by the dominican CRIMINALS. even you give me paper to live in this DR, I tell you no thank you.
I'm agree with you Venganza, we need more information before say they are haitians.

VANGAN

you see what i told you? When you are black in this country(DR) in the mind of some people in DR, you are a HAITIAN.
It's very sad for some black in DR. you know than there is less one year, a black Dominican was expelled to HAITI. thanks to a lot of haitian who helped him to come back in DR.
You know why? Because he was very black! the Dominican police don't ask him where is his paper?
A lot of HAITIAN who have his paper in DR is also expelled to HAITI. It's very sad for the black Dominicans and the haitians who have some papers.

The article does not state they are illegal, just that they were Haitian... they accents probably gave them away.

Very unfortunate situation regardless of the reason. Now, to examine things more closely. To me, that certainly sounds like a targeted hit against the driver and NOT a robbery. Think about it...1) they already had money on them, that is not a common factor in robberies. The majority of the time, when people rob like that they have a common level of desperation. Having ANY money can be a deterrent and de-convincer to robbing another person because SELF-risk is involved. 2) They did not rob ALL of the passengers on the bus. The article indicates that there were AT LEAST 3 people on the bus - the Driver, Nunez and Bermudez (another witness). But yet it appears that they were not ALSO robbed. Naturally, it is very hard to deduce a lot with such little information, but from my perspective it certainly looks to be a targeted hit and not just a random robbery.

Good deduction BJP. Kman that is crazy that legal Haitians and even Dominicans are being deported without due process.( Legal procedures). The immigration department needs to address this. I can just see a situation as you describe turning violent and tragedy occurring. You mean to tell me if your are caught up in a raid no questions are asked , they just throw you in a truck and off you go to the border? There has to be a processing center to identify every individual to prevent situations like that.

lovingit, i DON't want tell the article talk about illegal.
i would want to ask to venganza why he told about illegal when he put this questions"How the hell are these thugs getting weapons? Who the hell is selling guns to illegals?"

But you know venganzaderafael, they expelled a lot of people who have papers!

Kiskeya my question was (if they were illegals) how they came to have guns? I still would like to know what is the process for deporting people that individuals with papers are still being deported even Dominican citizens. it seems this is done very disorganized. This has to be addressed.

... and yes blutarsky we have a great culture up here. ... maple syrup, blueberries, squirrels, snow keeps the bugs down in winter, moose and even our forest dwelling 8ft tall 800 pound sasquatch. ... ...

You also have some of the most beautifull women in the world. I was visiting a college buddy living in Detroit and he took me across the border into Canada, to a little town called Towsend I believe. While there I met one of the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen in my life.
