Santo Domingo. - The execution style murder of four foreigners in a residence of Cerros de Gurabo in Santiago is linked to the 832 kilos of cocaine seized in a house in Villa Faro sector, Santo Domingo and to the killing of the Spaniard Pablo Franjul, newspaper El Dia reports.
The killers who executed the Colombians Carlos Antonio Pedraza, 45; Héctor Elías Piña, 24, and Serafín Alvarado, 52, in addition to the Venezuelan Silvio Cesar Sanchez Monterrosa, 47, could have left the country, as the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) suspects they are also foreigners.
Police authorities affirm that several searches have been conducted in the case and have detained four people for questioning.
El Dia, quoting DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón, said the nature of the crimes and the victims’ nationalities points to a case of drug trafficking and murder for hire.
The case of the drug seized in Villa Faro belonged to a network of South American narcotics traffickers, including two Colombians, a Venezuelan and three Dominican brothers with criminal records.

Maybe if anti-drug officials in both countries were more concerned with "doing" their jobs instead of keeping a paycheck (while skimming off confiscated drugs to build personal wealth) everything would be better.
