SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Police Tuesday arrested three public school principals accused of murdering the teacher and vice mayor of the southwestern town of Bahoruco, Lenny Feliz with a hammer.

One of the detainees, Fernando Carrasco "Chito" head of the school Mundito, was the last person seen with the victim, and confessed to the killing, perpetrated together with the also principals Luis Felix Gomez "Felo” of the school Guayuyal, and Sandro Feliz Santana, of the School El Paraje, in Agüita Blanca, La Cienega, all three in Barahona province.

Police spokesman Maximo Báez said "professional greed” led to the murder, after the victim had won a contest of the Education Ministry.

"He (Carrasco) said that when the principals were going to a meeting in the Cristo Rey school in Barahona they coordinated and hit her with a hammer to the head, killing her and through the investigation of the principal Fernando Carrasco Roque he confessed to the place where they buried her."

Báez added that the body of the teacher, who had been missing for 22 days on Tuesday, was found in a scrub brush near La Cienega.

Greed is a great motivator. In this particular case for a terrible crime against humanity as this slain teacher represents an institution that is so much in need of development in DR. What psychos these three murderers! Hope they rot in jail.

All over the World school teachers can't be trusted. Need to be replaced by sensible systems of distance learning.

Teachers need to act as agents of repression and it often takes a huge toll on their personalities.

This is NOT greed! This is sick, demented activity. When not one, but three educators actually commit a cold blooded murder (w/ hammer) for whatever reason, it says a lot about the society in which they were raised. When Dominican society does not cry out load about this type of atrocity, I am beginning to believe most of the entire DR's population has fallen to a new low..!! This isn't a single loco, or a Jeff Dahmer. This is three so called TEACHERS. teaching your children !! Glad I am not in the DR any longer, and only hope those that can leave will do so soon.

No one knows exactly what was in the minds of those 3 arrested, what is known is that most murders occur for monetary gain, hate, revenge and then there's those sickos seeking self gratification [serial killers] and pleasure.

From what is written about this murder it's overflowing with greed and jealousy which triggered this crime. All the elements of first degree murder [planned].

These 3 should be made to pay the max and then some for this crime.

My condolences to the murder victims family. This murder victim paid a terrible horrible price for her achievements.

Dready, this episode points to our main difference regarding DR: On the one hand, you take the position that almost anything concerning DR is something greatly out of proportion to our world. And nothing motivates this unthinking action as when something negative happens in DR. Remember the case of the youngster who died of Meningitis? How can such a disease kill a youngster in these modern times-I paraphrase! I pointed out how nonsensical your reaction was and how several youngsters in the USA! had recently died of the same malady. I, on the other hand, while recognizing the terrible nature of this dreadful act by the three psychos, can still reason that these horrific acts do happen around the world. And in this regard I posted for your information a terrifying doubled Be-heading of two Jamaican women recently. I know it's been some time since you have gone back to Jamaica, but you can follow the news via the internet.

Atabey, you have the IQ of an ape, and that is why a poster refers to you as someone looking up from the bottom of the bell curve. at no point in my presentation did i even suggest that it had anything to do with nationality. i referred to people, not Dominicans. only a simpleton like you could take my comments to have any national content. had this happened in Zambia, it would have been equally disturbing. this is not Dominican, or English, or African behavior. it is the behavior of 3 depraved individuals. you are pond scum, a contemptible excuse for a human being, and someone whose upbringing is severely deficient. sadly, you cannot be resurrected, because you can take the garbage out of the bin, but you cannot take the bin out of the garbage.

Dready,

Sure it wasn't your musings you mistakenly sent her to review? Ha ha ha Ha!!
Also, as I very clearly pointed out in my first post above, the act committed by these three so-called principals of schools was "a terrible crime against humanity" In other posts I've stated this crime as "horrific." I guess that makes me a "moral nihilist" to you.

What about a person from Jamaica posting on a Dominican web-site and not mentioning how this crime committed in DR pointed to a wider Caribbean or Regional crime concern? Now that would be too much to ask of someone with a subtle dispensation to analyze things in their proper perspective. But no, we get this piling on from you in the form of "what social forces are at work" Clearly meant to convey a general collapse of the norms of civilized behavior in Dominican society. Now, if this criticism were coming from say a Swede, New Zealander or Canadian then a pass may be given, their current societies warrant looking up to.

But when you hail from that monstrosity of criminal infestation known as Jamaica!! What dear God have you to say about this crime-horrific as it was-being something beyond comprehension for you? That's the beef I have with your take on this matter. As an elderly guy you should have been wise to point out how the Caribbean Basin Region has become more violent in the last generation and that sadly this heinous crime reflects modern trends within many societies in the region. But you see, that's not your take on matters, is it? As with the young lad who lost his life due to Bacterial Meningitis earlier this year you're too quick to state your disbelief that such cases "still happen in the 21th century?" As if similar cases in advance nation-states also get small numbers of the same. Your MO is: Something happens in DR, you jump the gun and it's somehow "off the charts." Almost always in a negative way.

Be a bit more perceptive and balanced in your thoughts old goat.

How much money was involved? Was there a relationship that went bad? Was this a front for a drug murder? It is difficult to get a handle on this form of extreme 'gang' killing by education leaders. ...

To the victim's family/husband we are all grieving for you. ... to the wives and families of the principals and their teaching staff and students do not give up and be dismayed none can be blamed by the failure of these adults except themselves. .... madness and sadness. ..
