Santo Domingo.– If Tropical Storm Maria continues losing organization, it could dissipate as a tropical cyclone later today, causing a minor impact on the Dominican Republic, but still bringing some downpours associated to it, the National Meteorology Office (ONAMET) forcasts.

At 7:00 a.m. CDT its center was estimated to be near latitude 16.9 north, longitude 61.2 west. Maria is moving toward the northwest near 15 mph, 24 km/h. This general motion is expected to continue during the next day or two.

On the forecast track, Maria is expected to pass over the Leeward Islands today, and reach the Virgin Islands by later tonight.

The already busy 2011 hurricane season is shifting into high gear, and the worst might be yet to come. Historically, September has been the peak month for hurricane activity, and 14 named storms have formed in 2011.

According to some experts, the Atlantic hurricane season might get 25 or 26 named storms and might become the second most active season (after 2005) in terms of named storms.

gisellewilding :

I worked on the HAARP project some years ago and they have a tuned resonant receiver on both poles being tested in the coming months. The new HAARP uses the earth's dielectric properties to form a huge tuned tank circuit, able to oscillate like the output stage on a typical RF transmitter.

I still contribute to the project as I think it is a necessary system to have in place. We must cause these weather phenomenon in order to bring balance to the order of the World.

Pleas do not speak out against HAARP. We can silence you if you cause a problem.

RobertoJose,

Firstly, please stop bastardizing the English language. It's LOSING, not loosing.

Secondly, a storm does lose organization. Here's a link for ya:
http://express.howstuffworks.com/wq-hurricane.htm

If you read the section on formation, you'll see the phrase "If the high-altitude winds do not blow at the same speed at all levels -- if wind shears are present -- the storm LOSES ORGANIZATION and weakens. "

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
