Elcaribe.com.do reports that Gutierrez pledges to pay light bill

SANTO DOMINGO.- Insurance superintendent Euclides Gutierrez Félix has desisted from the warnings against Piera’s advertisers and announced compliance with the payment agreement with the power company Edesur, news source elcaribe.com.do reports.

Ina press conference convened by Gutierrez Friday morning, Senate president and PLD party General Secretary Reinaldo Pared affirmed that the government isn’t trying to intimidate the press.

FILE.- A National District court Friday rescheduled for September 9, the hearing on the restraining order sought by investigative journalist Nuria Piera against Insurance Superintendent and ruling PLD party senior leader Euclides Gutierrez Felix.

The 4th Civil and Commercial Chamber’s decision comes after Gutierrez refused to receive a subpoena to appear and respond to the suit filed by 15 who joined Piera’s challenge of the official on constitutional grounds, stemming from the official’s against her TV program’s advertisers.

The journalist’s lawyers affirmed that Gutierrez refusal to receive notice makes it impossible to hold the hearing, while Piera vowed to continue with her lawsuit, as it seeks to protect freedom of the press, and which has earned the official wide rebuke.

She affirmed that despite that Gutierrez desisted from the notifications against her advertisers, she will continue the legal action against him, adding that the official’s announced press conference will be to say that he’ll pay his electric bill in arrears of more than RD$3.0 million.

I'll believe 75% of it when Celso says he did.

The other 25% is that the thug threatened Celso and he is never going to pay it.

Fire that pig, he broke the law.

Ms. Nuria Piera ... brave woman ... perhaps she will read DT and find these blogs and invite some of us to speak with her and offer her a few more leads ... the scary thing is the recent murdered journalist who was provoking the system ... be careful Ms. Piera ... there are many of us who want you to live a very long time ...
