Madrid. - A book released in Madrid today analyzes the mental structure of Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo (1891-1961), from the theory of cerebral hemispheres, to conclude that the fact he was left-handed influenced in his behavior, reports EFE.
“Trujillo was left-handed. According to this theory, left-handed people are governed by the right part of their brain, whereas the right handed are governed by the left part. This implies a way to interpret the world, to interpret life," the book’s author said today quoted by Efe.
According to Cassandro Fortununa, author of “El oficio de lavar cerebros" (The job brainwashing), the Dominican dictator was "intuitive, with much imagination" compared with people governed by the left side of the brain, "who are rational and analytical."
"In order to mount a dictatorship one needs to have little judgment, little reason. A reasonable person, who reasons, says ' I’m not getting into that," Fortuna said, noting how notorious figures such as Adolf Hitler were also left-handed.
Many consider Trujillo’s Era (1930-1961), as is known in the country, among Latin America’s bloodiest regimes ever.

I think that Mr. Fortununa is full of bologna. How could he explain Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Isaac Newton, Beethoven, Michaelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and many more that don't fit this conclusion? I guess since I am a left-handed creature, I cannot be "rational and analytical". Well...thanks to Fortununa, now I understand why my husband tells me I don't have common sense. I'm not stupid and just left handed!

I have heard of this , but doest this fall in the category of silly superstitions ? I mean how many are left handed in this world , has to be in the millions . I dont really understand what is the author is trying to say , what that all left hand people are evil socipaths that could turn eveil and destroy the world? Now the part where he mentions that left hand people operated by using only the right side of the brain , which means that they are most like to be authoritarian or contronlive , which means that they have the reptilian brain . I have heard of that but is there really any scientific proof of this.

Equating left-handedness with evil is nothing new. The English word "sinister" literally means left-handed. Nothing more than ancient superstition - just like belief in a god, gods or green Martians.

In Trujillo's time there would be less thieves, but all the money would go into his pocket ( + Families and Friends) : he was the biggest thief that the DR has known and only his group was allow to practice "corruption", that is is !!!
Many of his companies were took back by the DR Gov after his death. At least the general stealing was known to everybody , it was crystal clear ! All the money and country was for him. So arrogant that he named the capital Trujillo city.
Trujillo was a traitor to the DR , he helped US soldiers during the USA occupation in chasing and torturing the real patriots or resistants. This is why the US said amen to their puppet( his nickname in the US high gvt spheres "our SOB" see Alan Cambeira "Quisqueya La Bella")
May be one thing for his credit , the streets were more safe except for his opponents (ask to the Mirabal sisters..)
Adding to that his own hate for himself (powder) , his racism , his violence...Trujillo = 0
