Santiago.- A shipment of more than 22 kilos of cocaine was seized in the Santiago International Airport Thursday night before being flown to New York, hidden in vegetables and tubers called yautia, the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) said today.
Airport Security and Customs agents confiscated the drugs in 196 bags of a plant called cundeamor and 81 of yautía, when the container was tested with X-rays.
Rafael Humberto Jiménez, Leudy Ramon Paulino and Luis Manuel Romano were arrested at the Airport in a Daihatsu truck as they transported the drug, packed in La Vega.
