Santo Domingo.– The National District 2nd Collegiate Court sentenced to 13 years in prison two former members of The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) who were found guilty of belonging to a network that sent cocaine to Puerto Rico.

Those sentenced are former lieutenant colonel from the Dominican Air Force (FAD) Efrén Valera Sosa and former Army first lieutenant, Danilo Alberto Ginebra Simone.

The DNCD yesterday affirmed that two other officers were discharged from the institution, Juan Alberto Smith Peña and Luis Daniel Tavarez Pascual.

They were linked to the 145 kilos of cocaine seized December 2, 2010 in the Las Americas International Airport (AILA), in a plane of the company Air Cargo Carriers, minutes before taking off to Puerto Rico.

The charges against U.S. pilots Kevin Henson Kranz and Chistopher Schmid were overruled. The same benefit received thirteen other officers who were discharged. This continues the tradition of discharging instead of indicting officers accused of helping narcotics traffickers.

WHAT BIG FISH?

Several dozen present and former government agents and operatives, and former drug traffickers, provide the activist against corruption in government, Rodney Stich-also a former federal investigator-with thousands of hours of secret insider information, thousands of documents, and other data during the past 20+ years, revealing the government's arrogant and sham war-on-drugs. Their information can provide you with case studies and evidence revealing a spreading cancer of corruption within the three branches of the federal government.

Arrest Uncle Sammy's "GOONS" and then you have the real drug smuggler!

If these two stay in jail for most of that time, I'll recant two of my misgivings about the Dominican Republic.

Now find the head of the snake and cut it off.

I think that when a person is dishonourably discharged from any government position for any crime such as theft , corruption, drugs dealing or any physical crime, they should forfeit their pension .
There are cases where people are dimissed for just being ubsuitable or ineficient and they must keep their entitlements but as for any dihonourable discharge ,,pension rights should be annulled

I agree and to raise the profile of that policy:

I think that when a President is found to have given a $36,000,000 million dollar loan to International Drug Dealer, who he is photographed with in the National Palace in front of a picture of Juan Pablo Duarte and also receives and cashes a personal check for half a million pesos from another International Drug Dealer, he should at minimum be denied his pensions and the privileges that customarily ex-presidents enjoy!

Just to be fair to All!

surely you can see the difference,,,he is not being dishonourably discharged ,,,if he were to be impeached that may be different

Alot of dominicans sell drugs but puerto ricans, jamaicans, mexicans, even Haitians next door work with the Colombians to get drugs into the U.S., and alot of other people sell too. Drugs and drug money runs through all nations.

Its that same mentality or way of thinking that keeps dominicans from advancing , oh because other people do it too , it makes alright for us to do the same? with your logic this means that if puerto ricans and colombians get to sell drugs , why can the dominicans sell drurgs too right ?

I know one of the accused personally since he was a toddler and the case is not as clear cut as they make it seem .It turns out the person (perhaps the others too) in question was making TOO MANY arrests of drug traffickers and they clumsily planted "EVIDENCE" to impede such efficiency ,our current narco-government is in cahoots with the general who is the real capo .

The worst thing is that these men are in grave danger in the common prisons to which they have conveniently been sent ,to share space with many of the people they incarcerated. If we had a real independent press this would be investigated but the narco-state has most of them on their payroll!!

Perez ,I hadn't seen your post ,but you hit the nail on the head!!

These men are being sent to prison to cover-up and to make it seem like the government in actually trying to stop its narco allies!

Pepe32 .... I do wish you were absolutely wrong, but I have to take your comments at face value and accept the possibility that you are absolutely correct and that this is the face of more corruption ...
