Santo Domingo.- The National District’s feisty Prosecutor announced Thursday the creation of an internal affairs department, to deal with the DAs who commit serious offenses in their functions.

Yeni Berenice Reynoso said the department will start working next week, but didn’t identify the person who’ll be its director.

In a related development, the capital’s Prosecutor revealed that Assistant DA Jose Manuel Polanco, accused by his wife of domestic violence, had been suspended.

She said she made the decision while an investigation unfolds, and that the case was transferred to the Santo Domingo Province Office of the Prosecutor.

Reynoso added however that the case is the jurisdiction of the Justice Ministry Council.

She should check out Maytag Repairman Hotoniel Bonilla.

He has experience in running a window-dressing administrative corruption non-outfit.

I will be ready to say she is great just as soon as she actually does something. I hope and believe that she will.

Just remember we have a Zero Tolerance president and look where that has gotten us.

I thought highly about her, until she started bad-mouthing FALPO in an arbitrary and capricious manner, without any prima facie evidence whatsoever, something that could fall under prosecutorial misconduct in some countries. If she wants to get the people's support, she better get off the MacArthyite/fascist bandwagon, and quit singling out progressive organizations even if she doesn't agree with their tactics. Otherwise by default she'll align herself with the neocon, neo-Balaguerista bunch that has strangled this country since 1966. :-)

This may be proof if one lives long enough change is possible.

The men here are deadbeat womenizing pampered from birth machistos and that applies to all classes.

If you drive by the universities 80% of the students waiting for tranportation are female.

The Amet officers don't take any crap and are unbribable (is that a word)

So far this gal has impressed even a skeptic like myself.

The only worry will be how much maternity leave she will take ?

DR_guy,

It's about 65% female inside USAD - remember more guys have cars or motorbikes than the women. However at graduation the difference is more extreme. I'm not exaggerating, the last graduation ceremony I went to was about 98% female - and that included faculties like engineering, science and architecture.

The guys in my village have more important things to do than going to university. They need to play with their motorbikes, drink beer, talk $hit and strut around with their jeans falling down.

I don't know about Yenni, but a lot of these girls don't want kids, so if you want to score with one, its not on till you've had a vasectomy. If you're Dominican of course, you'd be too afraid of losing your precious libido to do that.

Yet nothing about the U.S DEA agents who HELPED Colombian drug lord 'The Rabbit' to launder millions of dollars

Yep ---- The DEA agents secretly helped a Colombian cocaine supplier launder millions upon millions of dollars in drug proceeds

Harold Poveda-Ortega - AKA 'The Rabbit' - revealed U.S. narcotics agents, Mexican law enforcement and an informant worked together to carry out wire transfers for tens of millions in bulk cash and even escorted a shipment of cocaine through Ecuador via Dallas and finally Madrid.
The New York Times, includes testimony from a DEA agent who oversaw the investigation against 'The Rabbit'.

Both are charged with smuggling 150 tons of cocaine to Mexico between 2000 and 2010 - much of it destined for the U.S.

Who's the Biggest smuggler in the Carrib?

Why it's Uncle Sammy!

Well "Saint Yeni" appears not to be so Saintly after all:

“Deputy Prosecutor with several complaints of gender-based violence continues in his post”

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.-A Deputy Prosecutor with several complaints filed against him for gender violence continued in his post this Monday despite allegations of violence against him, while the National District Prosecutor's Office raised a number of questions about the role they must play when it comes to prosecuting one of their own.

However the Prosecutor had grievances dating from 2006. Why an attorney with several accusations of domestic violence against him remained in his position? The report investigates.

Judge Julio Cesar Castro added that Polanco could be arrested in the coming days.
