Santo Domingo.- Haiti Foreign Relations minister Laurent Lamothe yesterday stated his respect for ex Dominican president Juan Bosch, at the center of a diplomatic incident stemming from the use of his name in the library of the university which the Dominican government built and donated to Haiti in that country’s north region.

He said his government’s tribute country to Bosch’s memory, “for whom that the Haitian people have the highest respect,” just as for Jospeh Anténor Fimin, an intellectual born in Haiti, “symbol of life for all Haitian college students.”

Lamothe said he agrees with the decision by both governments to name the university library Juan Emilio Bosh Gaviño (1909 - 2001), the first democratically chosen Dominican Head of State, after the fall of the dictator Rafael L. Trujillo in 1961.

The statement from the Haiti Foreign Relations Ministry cited by news source listin.com.do refers to last week’s mishap shortly before the ribbon cutting for the university, located in Lemonade, 15 kilometers south of Cape Haitien, and which had Bosch’s name but didn’t figure next to Fimin’s in the library, as was initially announced.

Officials from both countries have resolved the incident by reiterating that the library will be named after the late Dominican leader and  writer.

True but we all know only 4% would have gone to Dominican education.

It is better to have educated Hatians so they stay in their own country.

The Dominican Government only administered the funds required to build the university. They came from the international community. There will always be friction between the Two republics as long as the Dominican masses remain under control of a wannabe European minority while it manipulates the masses into believing in an imaginary European ancestry. People on both sides of the island share the same aspirations and struggle. The only difference is that the Haitians proudly accept their roots while the Dominicans are coerced into denying theirs. This fissure can only embolden the international rulers through the rule of divide and conquer for their final assault on the Haitian "menace".

CPeralte states "Haitians proudly accept their roots"

Perhaps he can explain exactly what is it that Haitians have to be proud about?

Let me do my good action of the day.... In dominican republic ALL THE TAX goes to Goverment, regardless if is INCOME or SALES, i guess among all stuff that you pay but IGNORE are:

16% ITBIS
28% ISR tax
10% SELECTIVO AL CONSUMO (ISC)
2% INDOTEL's "projects"
RD$1,200 for LICENSE PLATE
And so on and On, and ON...to finalize on any custom Duty among OTHER more stuff, that is TAX going to the CENTRAL GOVERMENT, same place this money came from...i hope you are more EDUCATED now, and write less BULLSH%$T where i can read it, otherwise i will have to keep publicly educating you until you get out of the Dark Ages

P.S. thanks god I'm not you, i don't have to do drugs to mentally escape the reality of being forced to live on a country i hate, guess that makes your life less miserable...:-)
