SANTO DOMINGO. - United States ambassador Raul Yzaguirre today urged for an understanding in the conflict over the PRD party’s rejection of the Electoral Central Board’s Informatics chief.

Talking to reporters in Dominican Republic's State University (UASD), the diplomat said those problems surface in all countries, including the United States.

In that regard, Yzaguirre said Washington would be willing to send its technicians to the JCE, but affirmed since it’s an internal problem, it’s up to Dominican Republic to solve it, adding that what’s most important is to bolster democracy.

In that regard, the U.S. Ambassador added that Dominican Republic has a "living" democracy with transparent elections, and that it’s normal for some disgruntling to occur prior to electoral processes. "It’s a stable democracy, already mature, where the elections are reliable; there’ve been no serious misfortunes.”

There was no offer and what is the reason for this man to be dimissed or put in another position ..I am unaware that he has done anything wrong so I would hope his superiors stick up for him,,On the other hand if he has done something wrong ..well he should be moved from his job

The Bum you are referring to, Franklyn Frías, was originally proposed by the PRD and the PLD leadership almost had a coronary saying he was dishonest.

Now that they have bought him he is the second coming of Christ.

Frías was caught by his boss, José Miguel García, to have developed a parallel computer system at the national Board of Election. When Mr. Garcia complained to the president of the board of elections, Roberto Rosario Márquez, he refused to fire him, so Mr. García resigned in protest.

He should have been fired a looooong time ago!

Roy,

You and others may find this article interesting, on who’s who and in bed with politically for the upcoming election on may 20th!.

"Danilo and Hipolito seek allies: no matter their origins nor the price to pay"

"Zorrilla Ozuna was accused by the past PLD Attorney General Francisco Domínguez Brito of receiving money from drug trafficking and of being linked to the drug dealer Quirino Ernesto Paulino Castillo (now a prisoner in United States). But today nothing is said about this scandal of the past byformer Attorney General Domínguez Brito or Marino Vinicio Castillo, Leonel Fernadez’s advisor on Drug Policy."
