Santo Domingo.- The seismic fault which crosses southern San José de Ocoa province unleashed the 5.3 magnitude quake felt in nearly the entire country at 5:35am yesterday, affirmed Santo Domingo State University (UASD) Seismology Institute (ISU) director Eugenio Polanco.
He said the quake’s epicenter was southeast of Ocoa, at latitude 18.3 and longitude 70.4, 18 kilometers below the Earth’s surface.
The tremor generated 12 aftershocks, the last 9:25am, of magnitude 3.3, the expert said.
Polanco said the Ocoa fault is very active and has caused tremors as strong as 6.5, occurred in 1962.
He said the superficial earthquakes range as deep as 70 kilometers, though in the case of geologic faults rarely exceed 25 kilometers.
The seismologist added the earthquakes are natural movements, for which people should have an emergency plan that begins at home, recognizing the risks and designing escape routes.

Honest, and by your logic, those who are not should curse God? If He is responsible for good fortune, then also must be responsible for bad. The only acceptable excuse is his non-existence.

Roy ... when the time comes for you to stand alone before the King to give an accounting of your life, you will have no excuses worth discussing when the destiny of your soul is brought into consideration ... oh and yes I expect my own accounting will not be very pretty either ... quake or no quake ....

I how don t how has life treated you thus far ,but there is more in life than meets the eye......for example when they collected the most important scripts into a book known as the bible.....30 prophecies were predicted in the old testament about the life of The Anointed(Christ) 600 years before his time...and they all were fulfilled

HONEST,,
The Bible was compiled at the Counsel of Necea, on the instructions of Roman Emperor Constantine, in order to have a consistent religion throughout the empire. It was a totally contrived document. Of course the New-Testament myths were consistent with the Old Testament myths - they were written afterwards, by those who has read the former! As to when they were written, or even by who, no one knows since not one original document survived (surprise, surprise). Regardless the are filled with such ridiculous bullshit, even the Catholic Church admits most of is is fable.

How has life treated me? Life's been good. It is what I have made it, since I am not a fatalist. I don't believe in an invisible man in the sky, or talking snakes, virgin births, walking zombies or living when you're dead, for that matter.
As to "more than meets the eye" - well the invisible and the non-existent look the same.
Anyway, can you list the 30 "prophecies" - Old Testament book chapter and verse please, with the corresponding New Testament book chapter and verse?

In regards to the veracity of talking snakes, virgin births, or any other miracle written in the bible...I don t blame you....after all, we have grown up in a society where there isn´t any evidence for such things...and seeing is believing...however, if I elaborate on that point it covers a lot of territory, and I can see you are a factual person
As to the council of Nicaea, I am glad that you have done some digging, but the question is. Have you digged deep enough? so let´s travel farther back in time to the world of Daniel the prophet and see how some of the prowess of Alexander the Great,,,,were predicted accurately..Daniel 8, 3-8, 19-22, just a coincidence? I don t think so

As to"life is what we make" it is true that we are free to choose the path we take. Like wise, we choose to set up a business and we go through a series of process(advertising, market research and careful management) just to get the business going. why do we have to go through all this? the answer is real simple....we must know certain factors, before, setting up a business...for example, what if the customer we are targetting in that area likes the product but he doesn´t have money to buy it? do we have any control over that? so all we have left is to set up a business else where. Can we add a moment to a life span? is that your concept of fatalism?.come on let´s BE HONEST--we are free to choose, but we are BOUND TO THE CONSEQUENCES

As to more than meets the eyes, I am afraid I wasn`t clear enough so I apologise for that, what I meant was if we take into account the order of some events throughout history..some of the things were predicted..I am not talking about natural disasters, of megalo maniacs, regretfully some people have read into the passages of the bible what they want to see misleading other, as a result, we have more skepticals today, however, there are some passages that are plain simple to most everyone..for example, when Daniel predicted that the knowledge would increase...and the knowiledge has increased DANIEL 12, 4 or when Jesus said Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, matthew 24, 12..probably it was planned we cleverness too...but you want me to talk about the prophecies of the christ...ok....
Zechariah 11, 12-13 and Matthew 26, 15.....psalms 69, 21 and Matthew 27, 34......psalms 22, 18 and Matthew 27, 35...
