J.Polanco, still counting...
Zoom Picture

Santo Domingo.- National Police chief Jose A. Polanco on Wednesday said an investigation is underway to determine how many agents live abroad, including colonels, to fire them for dereliction of duty.

The announcement is the latest Police effort to figure out how many agents are actually on its payroll and what services they provide, an embarrassing admission which spurs mockery among the population.

Although Polanco said a cleanup of the Police payroll is underway, he didn’t specify the number of agents who are abroad.

Interviewed after a meeting with president Danilo Medina in the National Palace, the official revealed that a three-story building will be built in the ??Villa Consuelo sector, to house the National District Police Central Directorate.

Message to ATABEY:

“First combat corruption, then let's talk about higher taxes”

“Citizen’s Participation complains to the Government and (ATABEY) because it puts the tax package (paquetazo) out before the corrective measures in the spending and the fight against corruption”

"The problem cannot be resolved without penalizing those who created it, because we would be validating so it recurs after each election then passing on the costs to the citizens through higher tax burdens", he said.

Simply cut funding for those "X" positions or "botellas"

Do so in all the sectors of public governance. The issue of taxation fraud or non-compliance in the DR IS A SEPARATE ISSUE.

But like President Ford, Josean can't manage to fart and chew gum at the same time.

As always incorrect: First cut "botellas" and establish a credible fiscal plan, then pass the needed legislation that increases taxes to levels commensurate with the modernization process.

You don't say to the hundreds of thousand children in dire educational opportunity environments: "Wait until we get a hand on corruption, AND THEN WE"LL ADDRESS YOUR CONCERNS.

You do both. But then it's Fordjosean we're talking about! And he can't hold two thoughts together. LOL

Well Dready with the likes of the Joseans we have in DR, the enormous numbers who look to deflect responsibility for the current state of affairs and think that the government should take care of them....I would not be surprised that some violence may yet explode in DR. The pitchfork crowd of leftist provocateurs has a well oiled history in DR, and given the licking the PRD has received in the last three national election cycles, it's a real possibility.

How can this even be a concern? Didn't Medina order that all members of the police and military report to their duty stations on a particular day, something like 2 months ago? Were those results just complete fabrications? Let me answer that: Yes! Since I returned for this visit, I see that the National Police who provided private security for all the casino driveways in Gazcué are gone. There is still 1 in uniform, inside the pharmacy at Independencia and Pasteur. This sort of thing is never going to end; your country is completely screwed and everybody is participating. You lie, cheat and steal as a matter of course, and lots of you think that everything white man that sets foot in the country has some obligation to empty our pockets for you. Of course people taking government paychecks are just hanging out in the United States scamming there or living off of our welfare. That's the Dominican ideal.

“Military guards buildings given by Leonel to friends and family”

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.- Soldier in camouflage uniform doing security at the buildings built by the State at the Luperon Avenue, and given as gifts by Leonel Fernández to his friends and family.

“The soldier has the rank of Sergeant and belongs to the national army, and is caring out work which should be done by private security.”

The two go together exceedingly well, Dready.
Take Edir Macedo Bezerra for example, head and founder of the huge Brazilian Universal Church of the Kingdom of God with a growing presence in the Dominican Republic. He was formerly in lotteries, till he found an even easier way to get filthy rich (net worth in 2009 of 2 billion American dollars), out of the pockets of the gullible, uneducated poor. He teaches Pentecostal "prosperity theology" - " Christian religious doctrine which claims the Bible teaches that financial blessing is the will of God for Christians. The doctrine teaches that faith, positive speech, and donations to Christian ministries will always increase one's material wealth."

Don't be too cruel just look at another morbidly pillaging corrupt regime and how things are moving-trending ever so-towards better oversight: Brazil.

"LATIN AMERICA

Brazil’s Largest Corruption Trial Yields Its Most Important Guilty Verdict

José Dirceu, one of Brazil's most powerful political figures, has been convicted in the wide-ranging mensalão scandal trial, which is considered a key test of the nation's modernization"
By ANDREW DOWNIE / SÃO PAULO

Under LULA a mass corruption machine was well oiled with monthly payouts to legislators. Of course, Lula says he knows nothing about these happenings while in office.

Did Brazil stop everything and get a FORENSIC auditing of its accounts BEFORE spending one additional cent of public funds? Only a loony like Josean would want or demand such a thing.

Instead, President Dilma Rousseff has promoted a shift towards modernity. President Medina should take note.
