H. Ng, no resignations, no firings.
Santo Domingo.- The Pensions Superintendence (Sipen) on Thursday ordered the revocation of the pensions which former Banks Superintendent Haivanjoe Nn Cortiñas authorized for himself, and 49 others of that agency’s ex officials.
Sipen’s decision comes after receiving a report which evaluated the feasibility of the Banks Superintendence’s Retirement Plan and which was backed by a resolution.
Sipen’s measure officially cancels the RD$650,000 monthly pension issued to Ng as well as another for 439,000 pesos for ex Banks general manager Daris Javier Cuevas, as well as those of other Banks Superintendence ex top officials.
The report to Sipen notes that the Pension Fund for Banks Superintendence employees doesn’t have sufficient funds to cover said pensions and would’ve become a burden on government coffers.
Ng’s self-authorized pension was an embarrassment to president Danilo Medina’s Administration.
Despite Ng becoming the first official in a major government scandal since Medina office August 20, no one resigned or was removed from their post.

Correction:
You cannot embarrass a governement official in this country.
From: Dominican Republic
Until there is a public uproar and screams for this to stop, practices such as this will continue. Dominicans are too immature for real democracy otherwise they would take control of their country.

Here is another josean-esque perspective!
“Removal of NG Cortiñas, a media ploy?”
SANTO DOMINGO (R. Dominicana).-No one wants to look for the fifth leg of the cat, but the coincidence between the breaking of the dialogue of the Government economic team with the Economic and Social Council and the dismissal of Haivanjoe NG Cortiñas, makes one think of a marketing strategy that found immediate echo in the social networks.
Beyond the easy and Manichean conjecture, will remain valid to ask why precisely today, almost a month after the outbreak of the scandal of the exorbitant self-awarded pension by then Superintendent of banks, and 21 days since, pressured by public opinion, the as of today former double dipper "withdrew" which until just a few hours before he justified with arguments bordering on cynicism.

The suspension of the negotiations on tax reform is just not anything. It moves to an imposition by Congress to the wishes of the Government for a tax that circumvents not only business claims but basically societal for the control of expenditures, which have gone overboard this year in an unprecedented manner by Leonel Fernández and a clear establishment of measures - beyond the presidential decree on the matter - that will make credible the new rationality.
The publication of the NG Cortiñas dismissal occurred barely an hour after the departure from PUCMM of officials and members of the CES each one on his own. A smart blow in terms of public opinion speaks less of the failure of the negotiations and the dark prospects that this opens than of the 'justice' of the defenestration.
Such was the humiliation to the society by the pension of more than 600 thousand pesos of NG Cortiñas, that knowing he was removed from his post is a kind of collective vindication.

And although we can resist the vernacular affliction to see something where there is nothing, it is impossible not to see that there are coincidences that are too coincidental.
Or are we were wrong?
