Santo Domingo.- The son of bachata singer and ex-convict Joselito.com, was arrested late yesterday, prior to extradition to the U.S. to face charges of conspiracy to traffic cocaine in New York South District Court.

The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) said Ricardo Almonte, 29, was arrested in Santiago and taken to DNCD headquarters, where he’ll be held until the Supreme Court a authorizes the extradition.

"This young man is the son of José Arismendy Almonte Peña, citizen popularly known as Joselito.com, an individual who was also arrested in March 2004 and subsequently handed over to the U.S. for prosecution in Puerto Rico on alleged narcotics trafficking," said Agency spokesman Roberto Lebron, who added that Special Investigations Dept. team headed by Colonel Roberto Bello went to Santiago to arrest Almonte.

Very good analysis "when are they going to start extraditing the Politicians and Military that are the
real top dogs in the MaffiaS?"
You will never see that done since that will implicate lots of US officials in the State Dept.to keep
things going their way. Have you ever stop to think what is done with caught narcotics in the US?
as well as why do they want to extradite these people if it is not to clean them out of their ill gotten
fortune?
If they realy want to catch ex-traffickeeres,they don't have to look too far ,start in San Francisco DR.
Have them explain to the US agencies where they got the moneys to build those beautifull
mantions and what was their occupations while in the USA.
