New York.- Dominican nanny Joselyn Ortega, 50, who allegedly murdered two children and who was declared brain dead on Monday, awoke from a induced coma last night.

The artificial breathing tube was disconnected and was able to utter a few words, but will be reconnected to keep her stable, according to doctors quoted by NY media.

NY Police investigators said they’ll formally charge Ortega Wednesday at the Manhattan hospital, where she was admitted after trying to take her own live by stabbing her throat and both wrists.

"She asked about her family since she awoke," said a source quoted by the New York Post.

Ortega hasn’t spoken since Thursday in the heels of the mysterious double murder of the children Leo, 1 and Lucy Krim, 6.

Maybe she is a carrier for Dominican brain-dead syndrome? (There's an epidemic in Quisqueya)

Well guys we are all getting ahead of ourselves here by making these statements let's wait until she is fully awake and can tell us all what really happen. land of the freedom where everybody is innocent until proven other wise in a court of law. Maybe she did and maybe she didn't, time will tell.

Pull the plug. What more can they be to this story. No matter what is said she had no right to take the lives of two innocent kids. Wasting my tax dollars on keeping her alive.

Pulling the plug will let her get get away with murder and it is the easy way out, just a bit too kind for my taste. Allow her to proceed through the wringers of the criminal justice system. Make her suffer the consequences of her horrific act then sentence her by hanging.

Nevertheless, we are still a civil society and if she was not in her right mind at the time perhaps another alternative would be more reflective of what is proper for humanity, life sentence at a hospital for the criminally insane. Let her share a cell with charles Manson.

Arenas,
Your bigotry evaporates thru your pores. She is guilty by her acts, not by being Dominican.

She's a woman. She'll get a light sentence or no sentence at all. She'll never get another nanny job and will live off the American taxpayer for the rest of her days, possibly undergoing extensive, extensive medical treatment as well. Pull the plug, for everyone's sake! She's a good Catholic so there's a place waiting for her in paradise with Jesus.

Something to consider:
Women do not commit suicide by stabbing themselves in the neck.
The lights were off when the mother came home. The nanny stabs the two children then herself and turns the light off?
A $43 trilllion dollar lawsuit not reported by the MSM is run on the CNBC site.
Here the story takes a dark turn! It turns out that Kevin Krim, the father of the two children stabbed to death, allegedly by the Nanny, is SVP and General Manager, CNBC Digital! And shortly after the murder of the children, CNBC pulled down the story regarding the lawsuit against the banks!

While the corporate-owned media is proclaiming the “rush to judgement” guilt of the nanny (who has survived but cannot yet speak) she has not actually been charged yet, nor is there any apparent motive for the nanny to have done such a thing.

Well I sure do hope this lady is able to speak and clear everything up for all those who bad mouthed the Dominicans and the DR.

Guille, people that badmouth us and the country are going to look at every negative incident involving our people to stereotype the whole nation. Of course their nationals are just simply the best human beings to walk the face of the earth never doing wrong. Thing is if the truth to the contrary comes out they never stand up to their words and print a retraction. So to hell with their meaningless opinions.

Some questions have been rtaised regartding the incident. We should wait before condemning her to
A grisly death.

Venganza and guille: I am not Dominican but I do love the Dominican Republic and it's people. I come here to try to offer my two cents, not to criticize but to try to do constructive criticism. unfortunately you have a lot of people who come to this blog with ill intentions and who come here to bad mouth the DR and it's people. These haters of the DR are part of a group that may enjoy seeing the DR government and it's people suffer. They don't come here to try to make things better but to slam everything that has to do with the DR. Some of the worst haters and critics defend Cuba, with its 51 year old communist dicktatorship, their oppression of the people of Cuba, and all is kept quite by the controlled media. These hypocrites who live in a democracy with all its faults but all of its benefits too, come here to criticize the way of life and the government of the DR. All while sitting in freedom with all comforts of the way of live in this country. Que Viva Quisqueya!

Chicharronypresidente- Thanks for your support. I try not to pay attention to those who have nothing good to say about the DR. I aware that for every negative remark, there are at least 10 good ones and you are one of those who have positive things to express. I have a rule of thumb, ignore those who don’t like me and rejoice with those who do and that applies to the DR as well. Unfortunately, it is the "bad boy" who tends to stand out and gets the most attention. Nevertheless, the best way to defeat them at their own game is to ignore them. That is why I mostly never respond or get into any type of negativity with individuals who make no sense or just want to instigate an argument. Don’t get me wrong, I am aware the DR is not a perfect place, but why focus exclusively on its faults when there is plenty of good about it. However, I do appreciate constructive criticism and listen to those who point out my faults with the intent of helping, not to destroy or strike me down.
