Santo Domingo.- An Assistant Prosecutor has been reportedly gunned down Tuesday morning during a search of an apartment in the sprawling sector of Herrera, where authorities found 38 calves and 16 goats.

Assistant DA Omar Alvarez, of the Santo Domingo Office of the Prosecutor, was allegedly shot and killed by Charles Muñoz García, owner of the apartment, and who authorities say impersonated a lawyer.

The as yet unclear incident occurred in the building on a street adjacent to the busy 27de Febrero Av., in the barrio La Rosa.

I must say, only in the DR..

Can this really be possible.............????? WTF

What exactly would a phony lawyer be dong with farm animals in a sprawling apartment in an upscale neighborhood? Did he like panic when the DA caught him and threatened to report him to animal control? Perhaps, the man just could not part with his animals and snapped.

As crazy as this whole thing sounds, the only thought that comes to mind is perhaps this guy was running some sort of an illicit but upscale, animal brothel for those who are practitioner of bestiality.

Anyway this brings up some controversial issues here, no doubt a great puzzle for crime scene investigators. Can't wait to hear the end of the story.

We should award Josean with : 1.-the person that contributes the MOST for the desinformation to this forum.
2.- The most delusional and "stoned" person in this forum
3.-The most ignorant, so he should return to elementary school right away..and get the benefit of the 4 % from Danilo

And the prize should be: a ceremony to receive the "Salami de Oro"

He was only a 'practicing attorney' rememeber they all 'practice' law. As to the animals - he was a comre vende for the rural set perhaps. Evidently a terrible temper and plenty of firepower. Why did it take over 100 complains to take this guy out of there. Better check the beat cops in his area. All that said I am truely sorry for the family of Omar Alvarez, he leaves a wife - two kids and another on the way. It is a shame the guy got a shield from family and not receive a lead vest.

I was told that the Assistant Prosecutor along with police officers went to the man's house to arrest him. The man was handcuffed but later told the cops he wanted to use the bathroom, he was uncuffed so he could use the bathroom and when he came out he came out firing. Apparently the murderer shot the Assistant prosecutor 15 times and he was not shot not even once. That sounds very suspicious. I think the poor man was set up by the local cops who were in this criminal's payroll. You guys remember Serpico? It sounds like that. The regular cops who were on the take just looked the other way as the complaints piled up, when the assistant prosecutor came to uphold the law the other cops let him get shot. Is it not curious how the other cops didn't get shot? No one fired back? Very sorry for the family and friends of Omar Alvarez.

if that is the truth, it attests to the severe incompetence of the police. they should have patted the guy down for weapons. any guy with a brain can figure that one out.

Yes Chica Pres. That is a extremely likely chain of events. There should be a major investigation of all those in attendence; some, most or all were on the 'pad'. Sure blunt the desire of DA's, not prepared like when they got the Germans on the North Coast. The police CAN do good work.
