This all boils down to one thing, they don't care what the DR has to say. They don't want to hear it. The human rights commission has basically stated, "I don't give a hoot, just give those kids Dominican papers, no, if, ands or but, it is the human thing to do." The DR has no defense, no claims and nothing to do but to give them what is rightfully theirs. End of story.
I guess the DR aint nothing but a piece of crap and we just have to do what they say. Period.

Hey everybody the constitution of the Dominican Republic states very clear that no kids born in this country of illegals foreigners are Dominican national and there says it all. Do you know how many pregnant Haitians women cross the border just to give birth in this country to them go ask for citizenship to their kids, maybe ove 700,000. What this country is doing is within our constitution mandate. How come you don't see sons of foreigners in Swizerland asking for their Swiss citizenship because you can only be swiss if both your parents are swiss and even son of legal residents in that country do not get the swiss citizenship when they are born, they get the citizenship of the country that their parents our from. In this country you are only Dominican citizen when you are born of legal parents in this country, or by blood because we do not have the Yousoli we have the yousangi stated in our constitution.

Many of us are professionals with higher learning degrees, entrepreneurs in every conceivable business, and work and live here legally. Yet in your hatred and bigotry you only see the bad apples. You don't say anything on stories like the Dominican kids who saved a child from a fire, or revitalizing slum neighborhoods with investments and businesses as we did in North Philadelphia. What about free pass to DR= massive movement of Haiti's poverty stricken and uneducated mass to DR don't you understand
Its not going to be accepted by Dominicans . You are lucky you are accepted. Be happy with that. Stop making excuses comparing other developed and industrialized countries immigration policy. And the US deports illegals whenever they catch them.
We do not have the resources to cope with 1/2 of Haiti's population and have a future for future Dominican generations. We cannot GIVE legal status without a comprehensive plan for evacuating the majority of new immigrants to other nations.
What do you say chilli, want to take some Haitians off our hands? We have PLENTY to spare.

Now if it were blonde, blue and green eyed WOMEN, then we could be jumping over the border, unfortunately that is not the case here. We are facing 3 million ugly haitian men with only 1/10 th if that much females. Bring some young Haitian females (not pregnant) and we can talk some more. The greatest racist was Dessaline and the Constitutional requirement this Grand Racist ingrained in Haiti: no blancs allowed nor recognized by law.
That historical injustice towards whites poisoned the waters and created the basis for the racial divide . Dominicans have never denied their negro component; they have defended their mixed and white component. And that defence of other than black racial sensitivity has undercut the historical narrative conceived by Dessaline and his anti white discourse.
As long as Dominicans maintained their multi racial sensitivities, Dessaline's dream could never be reality.

Josean, my brother from another mother, let's get away from the putdowns. I am not the type of person that considers someone of differring opinions an enemy. On the contrary, differing opinions lead to better decisions. Take the example of the US.
That being said , I don't see that much difference in opinions and goals between us. We all want a prosperous , crime free island. That may be beyond our capacity now , but at least let us strive for a economically competetIve , low crime island. When I say island I mean Republic of Haiti AND Dominican Republic.
We must manage a series of crisis facing us less we all suffer in misery. With the possibilty of a Castro free

Travele
From: United States
The main obstacle to a healthy vacation image is the poverty outside of the nice neighborhoods and the resort areas in both countries. Better infrastucture needs to be built in both nations but especially in Haiti where housing that is neither durable or safe is thrown up haphazardly.
The main things are plumbing ( the Romans figured this more than 2000 yrs ago), and energy. With this in place we can put the vast Haitian construction force as well as renew the Dominican construction industry to start building adequate homes for the people. This should bring employment to thousands. Use a lot of that aid money Haiti is getting to finance the projects. With work back home many Haitians will return. This will in turn alleviate the congestion in every street corner of every Dominican town.
Joint tourist destinations attractions should be encouraged. Together we can offer the chance to explore two cultures and history with the wonders and beauty of the island as a backdrop.

This is something Cuba can't offer. If we do not unite our tourist industry, the size of Cuba will dwarf us individually. Together we can compete in hotel space and variety with Cuba.
Haitiking is correct in his statements that Haiti's history is worldly known. Add our history dating back over 500 years and its a more interesting package.
With the Haitians that remain in DR (including the "stateless" descendants) there are 2 avenues. Get legit I'd fron Haiti and apply for further immigration elsewhere.. Get legit I'd from Haiti and with proof of good behavior, school attendence if born in DR and steady work in DR apply for legit residency status in DR. Preferential treatment should be given to the many Dominico-Haitianos born in DR. Criminal convictions would negate that priviledge.
This voluntary act by Haitians will prevent massive deportations that will save Dominican but re-strain the economy in Haiti. We can absorb some Haitians, not all the ones we have alre
From: United States
So Josean, can you agree we can accomodate many Haitians especially those born in DR prior to the quake. After the quake many Haitian women with child crossed the border to give birth in DR territory. That scenario won't fly. We can also legitamize a percentage of those recent quake refugees who are gainfully employed or in school. But Josean we cannot take in 3.5 million and counting, the quality of life of most Dominicans is sufferring due to this massive rapid influx. Anyone who can't see that is hartboring a hidden agenda ala Haitiking.

Like I've said before on this topic it's the economy stupid!
Unless our government pays a living wage to Dominican workers and outlaws the hiring of Haitian illegal migrants the problem will last for another 500 years!
The fact is this arrangement is very beneficial to rich elites in both countries and the corrupt governments they support. The Dominican labor market serves as a pressure relief valve for the overwhelming amount of unemployment in Haiti, so the Haitian elites don't really have to work on solving their extreme poverty. They can enjoy their wealth without taking any responsibility for the social decay of their country. The Dominican elites hire these desperate people so they can continue to make their exorbitant profits and keep the wages of Dominican workers suppressed.
Our surplus labor then have to risk their lives ricketty boats boats to find employment in PR!
Live is marvelous in METROLANDIA, if your Rich or a Politician!
From: United States
I agree, the govt must make it painful for Dominican businesses in particularly the construction
industry to hire illegals. Once the job pool dries up many Haitians will return home especially if the projects in Haiti continue to pick up. An easing of the numbers of illegals should clear the path to deal with the "stateless" descendants first , then some sort of lottery to grant residency for workers that have been working and living in DR during this past decade. This will help Haiti with the excess population and legalizes the status of many who can even migrate further to other nations. Unfortunayely those that are left out will have to be deported. But at least many will have a better quality of life as will many poort Dominicans. Can Danilo implement this?

From: Dominican Republic
Nobody is complaining about Dominicans. Dominicans ALWAYS are complaining about Haitians. I love to live here, but I just can't stand stupid racism. Before I always thought we in Europe are racists, but that's nothing compared to Dominicans.
Don't wish too much that all the Haitians go away - that would mean you´ll have to work yourself in the cane fields, in construction, in all the hard works where you don't see ANY Dominican, except the ones that stand beside doing nothing than scolding on Haitians.
From: United States
Calvoleon, our beef with the Haityians is interpreted as racism becauuse they are so unicolor. As a visitor to our country take the time, go to a library and research our history dealing wit Haitians and poerhaps you can understand where we are coming from. If we were such racist we would not have given santuary to so many of them after the earthquake. Of course with typical Haitian behavior we lend a hand and they take the whole arm. We allowed the refugees to come over and half the country moved in.
We do not need them for labor. They just will work for extremely low wages. Believe me we got along just fine without their massive numbers straining our maternity wards, hospitals and creating an eye sore in every corner of every fraking town.
Where are you from anyway that you think its just fine for 3,000,000 illegals to cross a border in a 5yr span and the host country just has to swallow it .
From: United States
This is a nationality issue, not a racial issue. Again what country are you from? Lets compare how your country deals with illegal African immigrants.

Come on Rafi let's be serious ok!
From: Dominican Republic
As I wrote a couple of times already: I understand that the Dominican Republic is a small and unfortunately mostly poor country that cannot take millions of other people. That's normal. I also know well the history of Hispaniola - both sides, for I'm an educated European, no illiterate Dominican (sorry, it's not their fault). Also I know about the helpful Dominicans after the earthquake - others were so shameless to steal the containers and trucks on their way to Haiti with goods for the poorest that arrived in Haina or Caucedo!
A very big number of these people - at least this time you don't say rats - are here beause they bribed corrupt Dominican officials to let them enter illegaly. You can ask any Haitian who came in illegally. He always will tell the same story how the guagua passed the many Dominican control points on the way. So don't be hipocrate. If they wanted a true control it would be possible. This border is not the Rio Grande.
From: Dominican Republic
part 2
Ask the many abusive Dominican employers if they don't need cheap the Haitians to make bigger profits to buy a bigger jipeta and spend the money with a pretty Haitian minor (of course also cheaper than a Dominican "lady").
And talking about "Haitian behavior": I better don't say anything about Dominican behavior. The Haitians I know mostly are polite and friendly and helpful. Sorry, taht's how I perceive it as an independent observer. I don't have any problems with Dominicans and I respect and understand them. But this racist thing is just awfula and degrading - for the Dominicans. I know it's useless to write this - for Dominicans always know everything better.

Anywho there are two options as I see it.
1. There are alot of projects going on in Haiti right now. Things are improving.
If you delay going you will miss an opportunity for advancement either in the educational programs the UN is coming up with or work in the numerous projects operating and being developed, not just in the construction industry. As an illegal immigrant in DR there is no future.
Back in Haiti many can emmigrate to other more welcoming nations by getting their proper identification papers. We will issue no such document other than a prison number.
2. Start the process to legalize your residency as other foreigners are required to do. You are not special, if anything due to your aggressions against us you are doubly required. So go home, you can just cross the border back as we know, and get your legal Haitian passport and start legalization process. I believe the DR gov't should favor those gainfully employed or in school with good grades.

Genocide scholar Adam Jones comments, “The result was one of the most brutal and all-encompassing corvée institutions the world has known . . . Male rubber tappers and porters were mercilessly exploited and driven to death.
Leopold's agents held the wives and children of these men hostage until they returned with their rubber quota.
"From 1885 to 1908, it is estimated that the Congolese native population decreased by about ten million people. Historian Adam Hochshild identifies a number of causes for this loss under Leopold’s reign—murder, starvation, exhaustion and exposure, disease, and plummeting birth rates. Congolese historian Ndaywel e Nziem estimates the death toll at thirteen million."

It is easier for them to just cry hypocritical racism forming a chorus with the descendants of some of the most racist group of people in the history of the Americas in order to temper our will and determination and allow this literal invasion to stand.
They are here as temporary guests.

exactly that is what the term "IN TRANSIT" mean. Imagine if the Haitians were to be allowed to hold the Dominican citizenship once they born in DR. DR will be overun by Haitians within 10 years and turns the country into a desert.
Josie "Should the US apply the same principal to Dominican and Mexican children, just to name two communities, who were born to parents who entered the US illegally?"
Piti the US have their own immigration law so as DR. Do you understand what "in transit" mean? The US is a big country capable of sustaining millions of illegal from others countries and the make up will not be altered on the other hand the Dominican Republic cannot allowed millions and millions illegal Haitians to be documented because we are a small country and the final result will be a civil war. You can't understand that Haitiano?

Dude I am now convinced you are a bigot of the magnitude of Dessalines. Dominicans are in every state of the union. Your opinions are relegated to Haitiking's status: prejudiced ignorant opinions.
And the story is not complete with the nanny.
he who claims to love dr,
What you hate is the fact that I am Dominican but not a racist like YOU, who makes our people look xenophobic creatons!
CONASO!
Just be proud your exnophobic racist, own up to it!
If our neighbors were blue eyed and blond hair you would be the one trying to jump your mullato ass over the fence even they were retarded!
You crude vulgar idiots do more damage to our country with your swine talk than a thousand illegal Hatians!

Live is marvelous in METROLANDIA, if your Rich or a Politician!
industry to hire illegals.

Can you tell me about this Guillermo Moreno for 2016?
If you love our country and want to see real change then you'll vote for him......
He promised what other candidates didn't dare talk about such as the restructuring of government from top to bottom, he promised to resolve the illegal inmigration issue and also to reduce government spending by cleaning house meaning firing all the useless people the current government employs + increase productivity....
For what read and hear people like Felix Bautista will have no place in public office if he is elected president!!
“Can Danilo implement this?”
Yes of course; but will he, HELL NO!
He can't even stand up to Narco Lie-onel and his Mad Hatter Wife.
Sanit Danilo is a Made Man in the Mafia of the 27. When your a Made Man you do as the Boss/es say period!
The Danilo who said the “State Defeated Me in 2008” changed a 180 degrees and has said in word and action since he was sworn in if I Can’t beat Them I will Join them!
He was more interested in being President than in “Being a President!”
So he succumbed to Lie-onel’s Wicked Evil Corrupt PURPLE POLITICAL Machine Financed by Felix Bautista and many of the same elites the benefit by letting our country be overrun by illegal Haitian workers.
He has the same Group of the most Corrupt Thugs in his cabinet since the Trujillo era or maybe even more horrendous than that group of historic criminals.
Saint Danilo is More of the Same, Only Worse!
Don't act like you've plugged your ears and ran your mouth since August 16. Oh wait, you have. What you really mean is:
Saint Danilo is More of the Same, Only Better!
Now that is a good one............LMAO.............
"Saint Danilo is More of the Same, Only Better!"
Give me one example?
What stellar Dominican reputation did they insult? Truth hurts...
Um.... Hello sir and welcome to our discourse. Do you have something to elaborate other than thje truth hurts. I'm all about in your face truth. So please, don't hold back.
But first, from whence do you hail? And how long have you lived on my beautiful island?
What is your take on the Haitian invasion?
The only one who is damaging the image of the Dominican Republic are the Dominicans themselves.
Anybody that complains of dominicans, please be welcome to receive the 1 million haitians that dominicans have to live with everyday..And take care of ALL their problems..
Instead of complainig of dominicans , why dont you start a fund to start taking there to your countries? And believe me, we dominicans will be VERY glad than that happens..
Don't wish too much that all the Haitians go away - that would mean you´ll have to work yourself in the cane fields, in construction, in all the hard works where you don't see ANY Dominican, except the ones that stand beside doing nothing than scolding on Haitians.
These people are in our country illegally and in massive numbers. 15-20 yrs ago we did many of the jobs taken by undercutting Haitians.
If it were 3 million Scandinavian men illegally in our country do you think our attitude would be any different.
"This is a nationality issue, not a racial issue."
Come on Rafi let's be serious ok!
