It is such a tragedy to lose someone so young, motivated, highly-trained and patriotic. Regardless of what you think of American foreign policy, these guys are heroes and deserve our gratitude and praise.

Eulogy for a Veteran

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the Gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Well said Xavier03:

I hope that people would wake up here in America and the world. If they don't very, very soon...We will have WW3 on our hands. There will be many millions dead...Make no mistake about it, It will happen if we stay quiet and let the Neocons who running our government right now continue on their war path....All indications are that this is where we're headed...

What is neo-conservatism -- from wiki

the following are the "main characteristics of neo conservatism":

* "a tendency to see the world in binary good/evil terms
* low tolerance for diplomacy
* readiness to use military force
* emphasis on US unilateral action
* disdain for multilateral organizations
* focus on the Middle East
* an us-versus-them mentality".

the American military killed in our country during the 1963 intervention…are you proud of that? Sure you are p.s.!! At what cause? So now we are run by American industries such as Texaco and we can’t even develop as a country and leave under the American umbrella for the rest of our lives? I’m sure you’re very proud of that!!

Concatchero,
If you think US occupations will solve the problems of this world you're wrong sir. Guns killing innocent man and kids will just create more hate towards the US policies and its dumb brain washed supporters as you. All stupid Military personnel like you brag about how good they feel for being Heroes but you are a killer as much as the people who send you to commit atrocities around the world...read first so you can learn the millions the US have killed. Why don't they build schools instead of dropping bombs to the Afghanistan people? Shame on you! I come from a military background as you but I will never go kill innocent people under the pretext of "peace" you are as a killer as them. Poor people who don't know how to defend themselves are being slutter by your machine guns and bombs. Cold hearted pricks who only care about their benefits and enrich themselves with the oil. Keep leaving on that bubble world of yours and btw read before you write: learn how many thousands

The issue is not wether we agree or disagree with Americas foreign wars, but that the thread should not be used to expand on political agendas.
We must respect those who following non deliberation orders, give the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.
How do you think it looks to Osbrany Montes de Oca's family when they read this garbage?
I happen not to support our involvement in Afghanistan at this time, that is beside the point.

eauonline,

For me, YOU are the bottom of the cess pool because you sit at home and pretend that you know everything from reading it from another fuctard on the internet, so you think you are well travelled. So "expert", what is your view on WW3? Because of dope-smoking aholes of your kind, burning bibles and kurans in public, making dumb speaches, and pretending to know what is best for humanity are the ones that start the wars that we fight. Go wiki fluck yourself.

As long as there is your kind and religion mixed together, there will always be wars, and people like this fine young man to kick your asses back into your FN couch where you can grow fat, prosper from curruption and pretend to know something about everything until you open your mouth again and start another war.

That's a very pretty picture you drew there but what's happening on the ground is pretty different. This war in Afgan is about resources....Many countries have tried to take their resources and have failed and so will the US because a war which has the whole population against it will not succeed..even if they build some roads and some brick buildings...They see right through that mirage...

The US is interested in the nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan mountains..

So please do not think that your leaders are not deceiving you....They are!!

Maybe I missed it, but I did not see anything that takes away from the ultimate sacrifice made by this young man. All of us agree is is tragic and he is worthy of honor.
The post has drifted into a debate on the US involvement in Afghanistan. It is worthy of debate and everyone is entitled to put their view, no matter how much we disagree. Maybe some of the language used is inappropriate, but presumably we are all adults here. I for one would prefer bad language than phony political correctness. I am against censorship, even of opinions I detest. Let the debate continue.

FedericoD, he certainly believed he was fighting for our way of life.
Whether our involvement in Afghanistan will actually achieve that goal, I don't know. The more I read, learn and think about it, the less clear it becomes. I'm not sure if anyone really knows the right answer, or even if there is one. However it seems in this century, the rate that we sacrifice our young men is less than in the last, when it was not uncommon to have the daily death-toll in the thousands. The 20th Century may be remembered as our bloodiest. Now we mourn every soldier who falls, and so we should. We have more than a right to debate these issues, we have a duty.

@ Xavier03

Your sight is clear man !

The only reason US army is in Afghanistan is Natural resources (pipeline in Turkmenistan) and other illegal stuff that I named many times on this website

Turkmenistan is a very rich country ( 4th largest reserves of oil and gas downearth). A pipeline is being constructed , TAPI for Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India

Turkmenistan doesn't trust the Russians (former colonizers) , and can't use Iran territory (embargo), so the pipeline will pass through Afghanistan and Pakistan.

US and NATO presence in Afghanistan is only to secure this Gas pipeline (others say Oil) . How the hell they will secure Afghanistan with 50000 men when Russians could not do the same with 125000 men ?

US and his allies can't win this war in Afghanistan and they know it, the only reason is once again the green bill

This is the story of the US army and their allies, demonize his opponent with lies (terrorism, unstable country, fight for democracy , blah, blah) to attain their true goal : more wealth and power

Unfortunalety true patriots i.e. the soldiers are sent to fight and die for a cause that they do not even understand properly.

More painfull, all benefits are at the end for the elite class

- The Banks who lend money to finance the war : War is only money and financing (see : how the US civil war , WWi, WWII have been financed by bankers)
- The US War Industry : all the weapons they sell to the US army
- The Multinationals : those who will enjoy Oil, Gas production and sell it with a higher margin to the customers

DISGUSTING !!!

What's more disturbing is the radical Islamic extremist terrorist mentality in the mass killing of innocents in the name of Allah all for that prize of 70 virgins in their paradise.

Using sex and religion to drive man into madness ?

I wonder who is financing, training, harbouring and supplying those who will do us harm all in the name of Allah ?

One can not eat or drink oil but even that helps to finance wars.

" I wonder who is financing, training, harbouring and supplying those who will do us harm all in the name of Allah ? " mainly Saudi Arabia but in some period of times it was the US services or the Mossad

Taliban and Oussama Ben Laden are a creation of the Yankees during the Russian vs Afghanistan war

Islamic extremism and terrorism is a reality, however French resistants (those who fought the nazis) in WWII were called terrorists by the French collaborators and the Nazis oppressors.

In this controlled/filtered information and media world, those who diffuse information all over the world are not the terrorists but only their enemies

US attacks vs Irak was a Terrorist attack since Saddam Hussein did not have nuclear weapons. So Terrorism label can be applied to both parties .

U.S the great satan.

And to think Saddam was Sunni Iraq's minority ruling Iraq's majority who are Shiite's, never mind Saddam used a chemical attack on the Kurds plus murdering over 200,000 fellow Iraqis.

Sounds like a religious payback time to me all in the name of Allah supported by ?

Yep ! 6 million innocent woman and children Jews murdered by the Nazi's. There were Germans who did not support Hitler but were afraid to speak up. The French resistant's targeted German soldiers in France never intentionally targeted German innocents.

And to think Iran is close to developing a nuke with long range....for what may I ask ?

A terrorist in my book is one who is willing to murder mass innocents for a cause by using sex / virgins as a rewards prize. Playing Allah on earth ?

Israel is the original terrorist state....
Israel’s Original sin is Zionism, the ideology that a Jewish State should replace the former Palestine. At the root of the problem is Zionism’s exclusivist structure whereby only Jews are treated as first-class citizens. In order to create and consolidate a Jewish State in 1948, Zionists expelled 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland and never allowed them or their descendants to return. In addition, Israeli forces destroyed over 400 Palestinian villages and perpetrated about three dozen massacres. In 1967, the Israelis forced another 350,000 Palestinians to flee the West Bank and Gaza as well as 147,000 Syrians from the Golan Heights. Terrorism is a logical outcome of this “Original sin,” . Radical Zionism, since a major component of the scheme of establishing and maintaining the state of Israel is removal (including physical elimination) of any and all threats, real or perceived including Iran and Syria via US military might. Roystone,

To be specific, The people of the US need to realize that their government is not seeking peace. What it is seeking is world hegemony. It is directly and indirectly installing puppet goverment all around the world. It has brought countries to bankruptcy with their massive wall street fraud and make them debt peons to US/European financial institutions (IMF,World bank,ECB).

We need to expose this truth of what's going on so that the poeple draw a new course for America. Right now...We are headed to WWIII the way the US are treating other powers like Russia and China. This was the plan all along by these neocons in our gov....Read the documents in the links below and you will realize what their vision is for the world from the Noecon organization that Bush,Cheney and company including Obama belong to PNAC (Project for the New American Century)...

One example of US methods can be seen with the spanish-american war. At that time US economy needed expansionism : Production outputs > potential consumers in US internal market. So they needed a war to find new markets for their outputs ( spanish carribean, south america )

In Cuba at the same time there was a rebellion against the Spaniards. The rebels asked US' help.

Winston Churchill and Spanish Ambassador in Washington warned the US Gov to forget this option, under the threat to see a 2nd black republic in this area (after Haiti). At least 2/5 of the rebels were blacks and had many supporters within the population.

So US ,under the false flag of democracy, went to Cuba to settle the conflict and protect US citizens . The USS Maine war boat was exploded in La Havana ( Feb 1898). This same night all the officers were in a reception in town and more than 200 US soldiers died in this terrorist attack.

Cont

US navy investigation accused the Spaniards for this terrorist attack , Spanish refused this conclusion and asked that an indenpendent commission should be given this investigation. Of course US refused, they needed this war by "any means necessary"

Two months later it was a war against the spanish : they kicked out the spaniards from Cuba , Puerto Rico and ended the spanish empire in the new world with of course new markets and opportunities for uncle sam in the old spanish colonies.

Of course the Cubans rebels were not the given the power. From 1898 to Castro's rebellion, Cuba belonged virtually to US (sugar and tobacco) industries.

Another example here with an official intelligence document from US Secretary Defense in March 1962 : "Justification for US Military Intervention in CUBA"

Nope would be great if Uncle Sam still exists but without his ganster methods. US soldiers destroyed all the muslims in The Philippines wars, saying that were "fanatics".

Who are the fanatics those who defend their country, customs, secular values or those who conquer other people ONLY for more money, wealth, territories (i.e imperialism) ?

ISLAM can't rule the world :

- No Unity : Sunnites vs Shiahs and more than 100 confreries
- Not powerful country with islam religion (most of them are 1/3 world countries)
- The Western world would not let it happen AGAIN : moorish conquest of Spain and Europe , and Ottoman Empire

Islam ruled the world for centuries, and this domination is OVER since the Ottoman empire collapsed. You can sleep on your 2 hears, most of what you see on TV or listen on Radio is BS.

Peace is the most important thing for a man : peace of mind, soul, heart, body (heath)etc , this is why the muslims use the salutation "Peace be upon you"

PEACE
