First Lady’s accuser vanishes, Santiago media report

Santo Domingo.- Marcos Martinez, host of the TV program Diario 55, didn’t show up in his show Thursday, after a Denmark bank Wednesday denied his allegation that First Lady Margarita Cedeño has an account in the millions of euros there.

Santiago media report that Martinez doesn’t answer his phones, doesn’t open the door to his house, hasn’t been seen in his office, or at his program Thursday morning.

Last week the TV host insisted and showed documents to base his claim that the also vice presidential candidate has an account with 43 million euros in the Danske bank and then upped the figure, stating it was “already at 76 million euros.”

He also vowed to wave a defamation trial, if the First Lady proved the contrary, “because I would condemn myself immediately.”

Yesterday the social networks were abuzz with reports that Cedeño’s lawyer Luis Manuel Pereyra continues to gather evidence to file charges of forgery and libel against Martinez.
