President Fernandez to ride Metro’s second line

Santo Domingo.– The Transit Reform Office (OPRET) on Friday announced that everything is ready for President Leonel Fernandez to ride the Santo Domingo Metro’s (subway) second line on February 27, immediately after his speech at the National Assembly.

According to the report, the chief executive will take the subway at the Centro de los Heroes station to the one at Kennedy with Maximo Gomez and from there to the one at kilometer 9 on the Duarte Highway.

Opret assistant director Leonel Carrasco admitted that a cut from the original budget to build the Santo Domingo Subway’s second line have delayed the work, whose cost will be US$800.0 million dollars once concluded.
