Santo Domingo.- An Antinarcotics (DNCD) agent was gunned down by unidentified attackers 10am Thursday, jus a few minutes after the victim left his house in Santo Domingo East.

Manuel Matos Hidalgo, who was assigned to the Canine Unit in Punta Cana International Airport, Altagracia Province, had his weapon of issue stolen, said DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón.

He said the Police began the investigation in the murder of Matos Noble, 28, assaulted just a short distance from parents’ house, in the barrio Ensanche Isabelita.

I suspect he and his canine were not corruptible. They did not knuckle under to the demands of those with criminal intentions to take control of PUJ. His demise was to send a clear message to those staffing the airport; you stand in our criminal way, you die.
